Thanks! Ya definitely still happy with them. Perform great and don't make a ton of noise. Had them on for about 30k now and you can't even tell.

 

I have a question about those Maxx's - I am in need of new tires and I will be upgrading. Right now I'm running the 265 70's on 16" rims. Eventually I will be upgrading the suspension on my truck, but I am wondering if those 85's would fit on a stock TRD. Right now it seems like there is plenty of room and I don't do any serious off road riding as of yet. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

How much did the Icon set up cost you? Love the build

 

Shouldn't be an issue. I've definitely heard of guys putting 285 55's on stock trucks and it working out ok. Worst case is it doesn't and it's motivation for you to lift! Haha

 

Can't remember specifically but maybe a few thousand with the TC uppers and rear leafs and all.

 

Saw your thread about the Pelfreybilt shake.. are you still experiencing that?

 

The first bumper I got (non high clearance) was giving me some extreme shaking but Pelfrybilt generously sent me out a high clearance with a different gate mounting design that has greatly improved the shaking. There is a little left over certain concrete freeway surfaces but I'm about to add a leaf in my dakars in a week or so to see if that solves the shake that's remaining. I would contact Pelfrybilt if you're looking into it as I heard they're changing the design and refining it. Also, the bumper I had is with another member now and he doesn't have any issues at all. It may just be my particular setup with suspension and truck type. Any more questions just let me know.

 

Love your build man. Just a quick question, I'm sure I'll think of more later. With the icon suspension don't you have to get them rebuilt every so often? At least that's what I heard.

 

You do have to rebuild them every 50k miles I think is what's recommended. I have yet to send them in

 

So what happens if u don't get them rebuilt? lol that's a downside for me

I think that it's more of a recommendation from Icon. You can email them and ask what happens, I'm sure lots of people don't send them in for a rebuild. I imagine they would just fade over time depending on how much you use them. I might be going with fox or king soon just to try something different and then send the icons in for rebuilding and sell them. Still undecided haha

 

Got the fat bikes and took a little ride through some dumping snow in the Cascades of Washington to a hot spring hidden away out there. Turned out to be quite the adventure but fun was had for sure.

 

That the springs by baker lake?

 

It's called Goldmyer, pretty far south of Baker. It's almost directly east of Seattle....if you can make it to the trailhead in winter it's another 4.5 mile hike/bike to the springs. Highly recommend it though. It comes out of a little cave and it's limited to 20 people a day. We were the only folks there with how snowy it was.

 

Oh wow thats awesome! I know there is one up by baker lake so thats why I asked.

 

Any more info on that one? Always up for some more hot springs...
