help. Tape player keeps on fliping the tape!

I have XM radio and i am running it threw my cassett player. i have a 2004 DC and the damn thing keeps trying to flip the tape while the XM is playing. it plays for about twenty minutes then keeps trying to flip the tape and does not play! it just ejects the tape and starts playin the radio! IT DRIVES ME CRAZY!! i am wondering if anyone else has heard of this and fixed it or any ideas on how fixing this

 

The best way to fix it is to not use a tape player!!

 

yea i know not to use the tape player haha that is the only way i can play it with out using a radio signal and having it sound really crappy

 

When i had an 02 tacoma i installed an aftermarket alpine cd player just so i could have xm without using the tape deck. Def worth the money IMO

 

thats what i am thinking about doing, if i dont i will flip one day and punch a hole in my radio and it will never work

What is a cassette tape?...is that like a type of masking tape?

 

Try cleaning the Head(s), idlers, and alignment bearings of the player with Isopropyl alcohol. Tape film build-up and dust can cause drag, which can flip your tape.

I had the same problem a few years ago in my Jeep.

Sorry to tell you this, but the tape player is toast from constant use, well, at least mine was.

 

I wonder what it would be like to have a cassette player in my truck. So retro, its cool. What do we do with these "cassette" things?

 

Try cleaning the unit first, the try using a cassette tape that has music on it and see if it plays. I'm betting it does not, but it's worth a try.

 

I have a Grand Funk Railroad Live 8-track kind of on display out in my shop. LOL How's that for technology?
