yeah, that's why I'm stuck on the Monsters! btw, that was a joke. I was just referring to all those different options... Hub and Offset? Do you think it will rub that bad if I take off the mudflaps with the 265/65's?

265/65/18's are roughly the same height of my 285/60/18's...just a little less than 1" narrower. If you don't want to rub, and don't want to trim anything, but DO want to go with 18's, you're best bet would be to go with 265/60/18's. Problem is that there are not a ton of choices in that tire size. You can probably even keep the flaps.

I was wondering. For those that have followed this thread AND have knowledge of OEM running boards, I need your help.

I really wanted to keep my front flaps but it simply wasn't possible with the 285's. So, the question is do you think that the OEM running boards would do an okay job of keeping the crud off the side of the truck. I realize that they won't be anywhere as good as the flaps, but they should help to some degree, right? Or is it that they are too far behind the wheel to affect much of a change?

    Thoughts?

ok my wheels are 5.71" backspace and +18mm offset, and they have your wheels in the same size if you don't like it sticking out as much as it does.

I'm glad you replied. I was gonna send you a PM and ask if you'd received them yet. Do you have them mounted yet? Do they fit? How much clearance do you have between the sidewall and the UCA?

Would you mind posting some pics?

    Hey David,

I love the look of your truck! I got a deal on one in Speedway Blue and have come to like the color, but I am agonizing over putting on the black monsters - only, I can't find any wheels in chrome or machined that I like better.

Right now, I have 5100's all around with the fronts set at 1.75". It's pretty level, but when I add tools to the back, it sags. I will be installing the Toytec AAL in about a week and maybe changing the front 5100's to 2.5". I think that I have enough lift for your setup.

Just a few questions about your setup:

    1) I'm probably going to go with the 285/60-18, but what do you think of the 285/65-18? Would they clear with the amount of lift that I have (or will have)?

    2) Regarding the part number on the picture of the box from KMC, is this the correct number of the Monsters with the 4.53 BS?

    3) I would like to move the TPMS sensors to the new Monsters, but I've seen some posts that suggest the sensors are some little box that needs to be strapped on the wheel. I thought they might be some little device on the stems. The strap on deals look like they could pose a chronic balancing issue. Any recommendations?

    Thanks,
    RC

That's gonna be close due the extra height that the 65 series will add...about an inch overall, I think.

    Yup, that's the ones.

Strapless and self contained on the stem. Move the stock over to the XD's. Was no problem at all and fit perfectly.
