    Just went through the same shit while installing new spindles on a Ranger Sat night and the bottle jack method worked great for tightening it up enough to stop the ball joint bolt from spinning. Glad you got it! What a great little trick that would have been nice to know prior to a highly disappointing 5 minutes of thinking I'd have to replace the LBJ.
