I like the magnets idea. Some strong earth magents from Amazon would do great. Then just remove it when you wheel!

Or what I've done was put small suction cups in the holes and put it inside the windshield on the passenger side. Still clearly visible, doesn't impede drivers vision, and won't go flying in a crash.

Don't go Downtown than, or Metro Denver for that matter, meter maids and patrols are told to ticket for no front plate. (Source* My best friend who is a DPD officer and they are told this during shift meetings, its a quick $75 bucks for the city)

They don't. And technically the windshield isn't a valid location either, front or rear. Tinted plate covers are also a no-go. No 'medical' excuse for window tint either, including front.
    It's not, technically.
Enforcement varies. A lot. Some jurisdictions do, some only if you're stopped for something else, and some don't seem to care. You can also go a long time in the same area without one and never have an issue, then come back to your vehicle one day and find a ticket on the windshield.

Varies by state, if you really want to get technical. I was in VA and had my front plate in my windshield, and was working base security at the time (hand in hand with civilian cops). In VA, the code on a front plate just specifies that it has to be visible from the front XYZ feet away, which it clearly was. Granted the officer could still be a major asshole and say he couldn't read it, but it doesn't explicitly state you can't have it in the front windshield.

*I'm not claiming to be a lawyer, but that's how the law read to me*

ANYWAYS, let's get back to the topic at hand.

    EDIT: Just adding the code

Oh for sure. I was just talking about CO law, since that's where we're at and what's applicable. Ours reads a bit different (42-3-202 if you want to look it up).

    :D

DSCN0854.jpg Not required here in Pa..but in Va they are..Most of my Jeeps had custom front bumpers, usually with a bar..pick up a set of wall mounts for D cell mag lights..attach the plate to the wall side..slip the mag light clip side on what ever pipe is on ur front bumper..done...also nice feature..when going off road pull the plate off..keeps em from getting trashed...

I guess if you aren't taking it offroad it might stay there, but as far as legality, might as well just leave it off.

Been there nearly 6 months with multiple trips off road. Can't really hit it with the stock bumper there. It's visible from the front that spells legal to me

This is my big qualm. Moving from PA to CO in May and I have no idea where to put a front plate. I might just zip tie it to the bumper and let it clang around.

Im in VA and havent run a front plate for a year, with no issues. Its not a ticketable offense, meaning they cant pull you over for it. But if they have you over for something else, then they can add it on.

I cant have the flipster because of my ProLink, but there are bolt holes on the lower part of my bumper. I just havent messed with it.

You might be able to say that you got into an accident with the stock bumper, and the front plate was damaged. Which is why you got the aftermarket bumper..

its always been in my opinion better not to draw attention to ur rig/yourself if its unavoidable...seems to have worked well with the 4x4's and my vette...but thats just my opinion.....
