I've never been a fan of Ford interiors.... I have owned a Silverado and loved it.

For a 2010 model I'd go with a Tundra for a "full size" but for a heavy duty I'd go Chevy

OME up front, Dakar in the back, Elite front bumper, Warn winch, Tactical rear bumper with tire swing/jerry cans/hi lift, Revenge Fab. sliders, Tundra brakes, Camburg UCA's, Safari Snorkle, FJ TRD wheels, Lights, CB, Switches, skids, LED's... OH MY!

actually this is what we traded up from when we got the gmc 3500 hd... and while the dodge was definately a work horse and we put it through some rough shit... there is no comparison when talking about power and comfort. that 3500 was luxurious haha. i can't really compare reliability because i was only working there a few more months after we got the GMC but the dodge survived a lot.

Quality wise, the ford SDs are the winner. mowst durable thing out there by far. however, the ride is pretty rough when unloaded.

The Chevy is ok as far as repairs but its much better to just ride around town and stuff when its not working.

The RAMs ive worked with are capable and great to drive but theyre unreliable as hell. i havent used the new series yet but the 03-09 models are all piles of crap. maybe twice a month we had a RAM being fixed in the shop and there were a lot of major rerpairs (transmission on one, radiator on another)

Heavy duty - can't beat a Cummins motor, period. Dodge wins. Look around at Dodge Cummins trucks and you will find them with well over 250k-300k miles. Ford has made too many changes to the Powerstroke (powerjoke) motor and it has become problematic. Chevy has a great transmission mated to an Isuzu Diesel that isn't so great.

Regular duty (150/1500 series) - I have always liked Dodge, but they aren't known for fuel efficiency. Dodge has also had a batch of bad transmissions...as well as good transmissions. I know many that have lasted many, many miles. Chevy has always been a strong brand but the styling rarely changes (not that styling is what makes a truck). They always seem to be one step behind Dodge and Ford. Ford has made huge strides in quality over the past few years. Add that to the recent marketing/advertising changes and the fact that they are the only manufacturer that didn't take bailout money (and are now the only ones turning a profit) and I would raise them to the top for the F-150...I hate to admit that.

Market doesn't bear all this out...Dodge trucks are the fastest depreciating on the market. No one wants to buy them for a reason.

I'd say Ford. Although I know plenty of people with Chevy/GMC with no problems.

As far as Chevy and GMC not being the same, they're identical trucks, don't know how one is going to have a better reputation than the other when they're exactly the same minus the front end. Unless a different grill and headlights effect towing capacity haha.

Compare the resale values of a Dodge diesel to a gasser of the same year and mileage.

Who buys a truck to turn around a sell it? I don't think he is going to make a business out of his purchase. Most folks that buy a truck, and use it as a truck, will keep it and use it for a long time. Over several years the prices, for the most part, even out.

Beside the point. Resale value is directly indicative of quality. Vehicles with lower quality have lower resale because consumers will not purchase them for higher prices.

    It's pretty basic market processes.

Besides, pretty much all the third-party market research drops Dodge into some of the worst categories. Hence their 5 year flirtation with bankruptcy lately.

Super Duty / Big Motherfucker of a truck: Ford wins, no contest. Cummins makes the better engine, but we're talking the whole truck here. Ford owns this category.

Full size/consumer grade: Ford eeks out the top spot, just ahead of Toyota and GMC/Chevy.

    Cheapo/midsized truck: Dodge, Toyota, Chevy.

Small/Light: Toyota, Chevy/Ford tie for second.

All just my opinion, of course.

full size, i really like the f-150. but heavy duty, i dont like any of the fords.... ive driven a few f-250's and the ride is very harsh. i doubt i would ever need anything heavy duty so it doesnt really matter to me. but it would be a toss up between the f150 and the tundra if i had to buy something that big.

My Dad always had Chevy/GMC. While the engine and trans always seemed to hold up pretty well. The rest of the truck seemed to fall down around it. Ford seemed to build a better, more comfortable ride but couldn't quite match Chevys for performance and fuel economy. Then in the late 90's Ford appeared to close the gap and move past.
Me, myself have owned a few Chevy's but the last several rigs were Fords and I loved them. They still have some issues, just like any other brand but overall quality of the rig has to go to Ford.
    Short answer FORD

I gotta say, the 3 heavy duty Dodge trucks we have had, have all been trouble free for over 200k miles each. The gasoline trucks, however, suck ass.

dodge/sterling cummins if you're going 3/4 to 5 ton 2500 to 5500. I would prefer in a standard just cause thats what I have experience with. If your looking at interior I think ford has that one and exterior looks they're all just big can't really say anything good about any of them.
Tundra for a half ton 1500. Tons of cab/bed configurations you can get exactly what you need 5.7L i-Force gives a huge kick in the ass I think it probably has the best low end (pulling power) of all the 1/2 ton engines and I've heard good things about the new 4.5L but have yet to drive or ride in one. As for the interior its a thing of beauty rivals lexus in that department. Exterior, meh its BIG can't really say any more about it than I did about the big 3.

this needs a poll so we can watch ford dominate, and whoever said tundra, no. it sucks in most aspects compared to the domestics.

Management is reflected in the finished product. Ford is one of the only companys that didn't take bailout money and still returned a 100 millon dollar profit. Not only this Ford has one of the best R and D programs out there. For best full size all around turck nothing holds a candel to the F-150. If you want off road get the Raptor. This truck would cost the average consumer over 60K for truck and all the mods.......and they sell it for 43K............If they would have had this thing out last year I would not be driving a tacoma right now.

here is a good video that illustrates ford's superiority
