OK. This weekend I changed the oil in the rear diff. My 07 has the LSD, so I added a tube of modifier. I used standard diff oil, 75/90, but was a bit short and topped it up with like 1/3 bottle of some pennzoil synthetic with modifier. Now, from a stop, when turning, I'm getting a bit of a shudder.

My guess is I need to drain it and just use full NON synthetic, but thought I'd ask here.

Also, I've read some folks use the full 8 oz of modifier and others 4. I used the full tube. Should I not have done that?

You don't have an lsd in the rear. Just regular or syn gear oil no modifier needed

Is the shutter just when it's cold and/or one of the fisrst terms in the morning?

 

Noticed it on the way to work while taking off from Starbucks. Truck had been driven a few miles by then. Wasn't paying attention when backing out of the driveway.

 

I filled my LSD with synthetic the very first time I changed it and had the same problem. Drain that shit out and fill with non synthetic.
