Headlights are flaking

    The cover on my headlights are flaking off. Dont have pics right now because my truck is in the shop but does anyone know how to make them shiny again?

    I understand you cant post any pictures but if you mean clouding up, any buff type lens restorer should do the job. When I did my bhlm, I noticed a bulb burnt out and clouded up the inside of the clear lens. Windex did a good job of cleaning it up when it was open.

    I am curious, do you mean the shiny chrome type finish is flaking off the plastic trim ring inside the headlight?


    I ask because while doing the black headlight mod on one of my headlights, the masking tape I used to mask a reflector area off actually pulled the chrome plating off the plastic as I removed the masking tape.

    That plastic doesn't have the greatest of bonds attaching the chrome finish to the plastic.

    i blacked out my headlights and cleaned the lenses when they were off but they outside has like a greenish tent and is flaking.

    you can kind of see the greeninsh tent in the top left corner
