I see these best worst cars to buy on my FB feed all the time, they're meaningless.

    How come ?

I went through the full list by each manufacturer and the cars in the list are pretty junk actually.

I didn't think my 16 Tacoma was junk and that was the only surprise on the list for me

Mine qualifies for the Rotten Egg score on CR. The Tacoma is getting ripped on Car Complaints. com and NHTSA. I wonder how much of their feedback they get from user review sites like that.

Yeah they said the same thing for the 2016 but they really aren't different trucks. Very little was changed between them and MOST of the glitches bugs and quirks are carried over from Model year to next. Hell they didn't even bother to plug the LCAs on the new Model Year. So bottom line, give it time... I won't be surprised to see CR ripping on the 2017 by this time next year.

I went through most of the list, maybe I missed something. I didn't see a list of reasons why they are bad buys. But hey I bought a 2017

CR is based off it's consumers right? Well from what I see here alone on TW 90% of the people that had anything to say about the truck was all negative. After all, we don't complain about things that are going right.

Ok, I purchased my 07 back in late 08 used with only 8k miles on it, it's been a beast ever since. Only had some problems because of a crash that happened when i had it, not my fault btw, but it's been pretty damn good up until i put the shittiest spacer lift on, but not to worry, she's getting the full, well mostly full except for roll cage LT treatment real soon. o_O
The first year of any new generation will always have issues, it's a new car in a new world, its got to get used to living on its own rather than being tested in certain situations by its maker. It's usually after a couple years that things start to work themselves out, that's why I love my 07. Take it as it is, you bought it because you wanted something new, anything new comes with new complications because we're not perfect.

"These 2007-16 models—listed alphabetically by make and model—have a record of much-worse-than-average overall reliability for the model years shown. We recommend skipping all of them. "

Haha, in your 1 month worth of driving? Great gauge on long term reliability!

OP, so your 1 truck example over rules an entire organization who specialize in this utilizing a database of tens of thousands of trucks sold and issues tracked? Ok thanks, great to know! Care to share your info on other products we can base decisions on?

Same goes for when something goes bad though as well. People will write off something because they heard or saw 1 example of something and deem them all craptastic. News flash, the more info the better chance something holds water and can have substance to a claim. 1 example nope, tons of examples from a large sample set then yes...
