Yes, I know, another lift thread. Yes, I have searched, extensively, mind you. I just want some good and direct opinions. Is anyone running these lifts? I've always liked Bilstein, but I kind of like the idea of going all OME.
Aren't OME components a little more tuned for our trucks? Or at least more tuned to go with each other, as opposed to OME coil+billy shock?

My plan is to *eventually* get one of these, and then wait until I can get a full (Dakar) leaf pack.

    http://www.headstrongoffroad.com/st...t_with_Add-a-leaf_for_1995.5-2004_Tacoma.html

    http://www.headstrongoffroad.com/store/p439/Coil/Bilstein_5100_Kit_for_1995.5-2004_Tacoma_(HS9504BK-1).html

However....there's also this (http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/1995...es-with-old-man-emu-springs-2-0-3-0-lift.html) which looks like a good deal and would make things easier, but then I'd have to buy rear shocks and an AAL separately.

note: very OCD, I could not have Bilstein's in front and ome in back, so I'm also kind of leaning towards the full OME..

Any/all help and opinions is very appreciated!

also edit: I'm looking for 2-2.5" lift, and I DO want rake in the back. I dig when a truck sits higher in the back. Unloaded, anyways.

I went with the full OME kit and am very happy with it, ran it for about 60k miles so far. A few issues, on the rear shocks the plastic cover has rubbed the paint away on the shock body (Not an issue for me but you say you are "OCD" dunno if that will bother you) I went with the 881 springs and after adding a winch, bumper, skid plate & 60k miles they are a little saggy, if you plan on adding any weight up front go with a heavier spring.

I have heard, too, that some people say Bilstein's ride harsher and OME rides better on our trucks.

I was planning on going with 882s since I do plan on an ARB bumper.

I ran a Wheelers off road 1.5 in add a leaf before buying my Dakar's. I bought the 3 leaf. Worked great for me. Handled load great and had good flex. Rode a little stiff but with about 200 lbs in bed, they rode like a champ. but wish I would have went ahead and put that $$ towards Dakar's. By the time you pay $159 for add a leaf and 29 for u bolts. You're almost half way to a set of Dakar's

I ran the toytec 1.5 for years on my factory springs.
As a matter of fact...you might find an 881 and toytec aal bundle on toytecs website.
Thats how I got mine years ago. Even comes with the .5 spacers.

OME kits usually come with dakars, mostly why I recommended. The AAL shouldn't be a huge deal, progressive is better

Very true. With 881 and add a leaf I had about 1 rake (higher in rear. Ran this for 3-4 years.

3" ome lift 883. Fnfx pros.
I have the whole ome kit with the 883 in the front and real add a leaf...it actually rides a little more smooth then the stock TRD setup. Couldn't be happier.

I can add that the front is a little higher in the front then the back as I still have the stock front bumper.

I might as well just saw a little longer for the dakar's then! What about bushings for the dakars?

Also, did any of you guys need that exhaust bracket? I don't feel like that's necessary, that's what a hammer is for!

Good question, I was wondering the same. I don't see it as totally necessary however, mind you your truck is an 04 so newer is always nicer.

They should come with bushings. Be sure to look at the parts list when ordering.
My dakkars (I purchased the full OME kit front and rear) came with an exhaust bracket.
