My mom's first new car, a 1985 Ford Escort, photographed at our house in Santa Clara in about 1988 or 1989. She paid like five grand for it. It was a base model with 5-speed stick, and my mom is sure it had an AM/FM cassette and power steering, but the one thing it DID NOT have was air-conditioning. This was something my mom quickly regretted. She'd never owned a vehicle with A/C before and didn't think she'd need it in Northern California, so she bought one without air to save money. BIG MISTAKE. It was a good car, but the lack of A/C sealed it's fate and my mom sold it in 1990 before we moved to Pennsylvania for the first time.

What year Sienna? My mom's 2004 Honda Odyssey never had a problem with the A/C. We owned it for 9 years and put like 132K miles on it...

Correct. '84-'87 used suspension components/design from other vehicles. '88 got a redesigned suspension specifically designed for the fiero.

Sorry it took so long to respond. Another thing I realized is that the side airbags didn't come along (at least as a standard feature) until the 2009 model year, and that 2005-2008 2nd gens don't have side or seat airbags. My neighbor Ryan who did most of the hard work thought he would have to drill a new hole in the floor of my truck and the run the coax cable for the camera through that, then fill the hole with a rubber grommet. Turns out there's already a hole there with a grommet for the side airbag wires/sensors. The coax cable just fit right through the existing grommet so no new holes needed to be drilled. Since you have a 2008, you may have to cut/drill a new hole and get a new rubber grommet to fill it in.

We only had the airbag light come on, no check engine light. Shutting off the airbag light was accomplished by completely disconnecting the battery, waiting like 5 minutes, and then reconnecting. The only reason the airbag light came on is because Ryan disconnected that thing with the clock and hazard button due to it getting in his way.

Found this POS in a student parking lot at what was at the time Delaware Valley College, like 7 years ago (probably has the same engine as my uncle's van). Note that the airbag is deployed and it has Maryland plates (I'm thinking DUI or texting driver; This was back in 2010, so this car has probably been melted down by now...

I was shocked to find a car with a deployed airbag just sitting in a college parking lot...

My friend's apartment building was built in 1983. This is the original General Electric central A/C unit, and I took the picture when a bunch of us helped him move in back in July 2013. This is back when General Electric and Trane were part of the same company, and their products had the Climatuff compressors and spine-fin coils. This July, he will have been there almost 4 years and this old beast is still going strong!

Someone I know who's on the spectrum owns this! It's a 1988 Peterbilt 379, and yes he does have the proper endorsements on his CDL to drive it!

I'd say 1. Don't drive so close to the curb and 2. Don't serve fruity drinks and you won't have to go on a fruit run.

I wasn't driving close to the curb. I was backing into a spot so I wouldn't have to back up into the busy road. I was not parallel to the curb, my cab was criss-crossing the sidewalk and the kid would have nailed my truck in the center of the driver's door. The whole fiasco probably would have ended with me putting the kid in the front seat, throwing the bike in the bed, and hauling ass to the hospital (by the time ambulance could get to the produce place, I probably would be at the hospital).

As for drinks, it's all about what the customer wants. I'm primarily a beer guy myself (lagers, stouts, some IPAs), but I do like the occasional shot of whisky, a little bit of scotch on a special occasion, certain white wines, rum and coke, and high-quality vodka mixed with club or Sprite. I liked margaritas when I younger, but I am not much of fruity/mixed drink guy. But, like I said, it's all about the what the customers pay for...
