Used 2016 Tacoma : WORST used car buy

I think toyotas tacomas resale comes mostly from reliability history. People that buy tacomas want reliability not a Cadillac truck. If these trucks are not reliable then resale will drop. If they hold up then resale will be the same as previous gens. Only time will tell.

 

I just looked up my area and the Colorado really didn't have much in the form of Incentives, just a couple financing deals and some sort of early lease termination deal.

 

Coupled with the fact that they dominated the segment for awhile, so when midsize trucks got hot, tacomas did as well.

Nice, I'd have to salute you. Silly enlisted common folk, I am. I had an OTS package ready to go last year, changed my mind and started grad school, I still go back and forth between staying and going. Fighters or Heavies? Not quite that high, I'm 43 and on about my 30th. That said I've owned 4 in the past 20 yrs myself. I used to buy cheap cars at auctions and either sell them after a yr or so or just buy to flip.

 

I'm 31 and on vehicle number 12.

 

Consumer Reports is biased. I read something somewhere awhile back that took some credibility away from CR.

 

Been with my wife almost 15 yrs but she's only had 2 vehicles in that time..red 96 Tacoma when we met and 05 Rav4 after the Tacoma was bought back.

Still miss my 73 Buick I had as a kid

Wasted too much time here, my 2016 rocks, my 01 rocks, I don't care what CR or anyone has to say because I make my own opinions based off my own experiences. It's too bad sour Frontier owners come post crap like this here to make themselves feel better. Cheers.

 

...And there's your "grain of salt". By the time most folks actually go to resell their 2016, the CR rating will likely be long forgotten.
