Looks really good! I'll eventually get a 40" BD bar to mount to my FR rack... I'm curious why you mounted it above the rack and not below between the rack and roof. I'd also like to know how you ran the wires from the roof. Killer work!!

We had to build custom brackets for the cab since the shark fins on the 3rd gens is taller than the past so this mounting was temporary until we got the correct brackets back from powdercoat. The bar has since been flipped under the rack to keep the entire top flat. Wiring wise we used a large firewall weatherpack connector to sandwich and seal the roof and tucked all the wiring into the B-pillar. We also added additional weatherpacks between the cab and shell racks so the customer can remove the shell and lights without having to cut any wires.

Anyway you could post some pictures of how the wiring is done for all the roof rack lights?

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like you went the extra mile (or three!) for a very professional install. I’ve read nothing but good things about you guys.

Are you saying that the custom brackets were for the FR rack itself, or the light bar? My rack brackets are the first version they had for the gen 3 Taco (a year old) which they have since updated to be a bit taller for the shark fin. Thankfully mine just barely fits with no problems with the original mounts.

I was checking through our album and I really don't have any detailed pictures of the wiring. The way this truck was done is pretty much standard procedure for us when we wire trucks so we didnt really think to take any specific photos of it.

We tried to use an already existing option for the AC rack but ran into the same issue where it wasnt clearanced for the new shark fin height so instead of waiting for a revision we just designed our own. it was off by almost .75".

I was curious about this also. What is a weatherpack connector.

I saw the wiring going in and like all of their work, it was flawless. Never seen anyone do the weatherpack connectors like that with a roof rack, but it made a ton of sense once I saw it.

truck was aligned with a little extra camber intentionally per the customers request to pull the tire as far away from the cab of the vehicle as possible while still tracking correctly. Truck owner is a big time adventurist and spends a lot of time out in the backwoods of AZ, CA NV and UT so we wanted to ensure that if he were to ever knock his camber back towards the cab he still had enough room to fully articulate without any rub.
