sometimes I post here and immediately an alert pops up- someone quoted my post- like tcbob has figured a way for TW to bend the time-space continuum.
I don't know about any other forums, by TW is really good IMO- just look at the home page- over 6,000 members on right now. How many on Ridgeline cafe now?

I really like the features the Ridgeline offers that my SR5 doesn't, power seats and other modern tech like push button start, Apple Carplay and Android Auto. (Bought my Tacoma last May.) Still not convinced on the exterior look of the Ridgeline though.

The one thing that's a deal breaker for me is no locking tailgate! The trunk in the bed locks, but not the tailgate. My brother just ordered a new Black Edition and should have it in April, so I'll be able to get a good look at it then. The local dealer is out of stock and says every one they get it is pre-sold.

NOOOO - they have that silly roll back center console just like CRV... Terrible design and not fun to keep clean. Looks like a Honda interior, which I did not like. Too each his own

Love this entertainment... so many people value themselves on what they drive. Hilarious

... yet looking down on other people is somehow morally superior. *rolleyes*

Thanks for proving that your only purpose here is trolling.

I don't think giving my shopping experience of 2017 Tacoma's and Ridgeline's is trolling. Neither is being entertained by snide remarks regarding masculinity based on a vehicle.

TW is the 1st forum I ever visited/ participated in, so can't compare, but it does seem like many members stick around after moving on to other vehicles. And it seems like half this forum is devoted to things other than Tacoma. Guess that TW really is different.
Think tcbob and the caporegime should change TW from Tacoma World to Truck World and include all the brands - that would be magnificent.
Sorry Ridgeline owners- you don't get in...just kidding

"We all agree, the Ridgeline is not a truck, and the Tacoma is much more capable, and better looking." No we don't "all agree." By all definitions the Ridgeline is a truck. I guess all the reviewers are just mistaken in comparing it to your Taco. The only thing the Taco is better at than a Ridgeline is towing and off roading. As far as the Taco being better looking that's just your opinion. As I recall there are plenty of people that hate the look of the new Taco.

What exactly does Subuaru make that resembles/operates anything like a Ridgeline or Tacoma ?

FYI: The BAJA died 11 years ago , thank goodness

Once I saw the side view of a new Ridgeline in person, I didn't even bother going to drive one. Looks like an abbreviated mini van.

I'm a Tacoma fanboy, on my 4th Taco and owned one from every generation. I shit all over the Colorado and have made several videos ripping it apart, because I think it TRIES to be a Tacoma and fails. The Ridgeline on the other hand, I don't think its trying to be a Tacoma, its trying to be something else and it does it very well. Its trying to be a semi-luxurious semi-sporty crossover with the utility of a truck bed and some neat storage features like the up folding rear seats and in bed trunk. I actually LOVE the Ridgeline and if I wasn't still into hardcore offroading I'd totally be in one. In a few years if I've given up the harder trails and Baja and I just need something for lighter offroading (which the vast majority of Tacoma owners only do light "trails" anyways) and to get me to Mammoth in the snow I'll be making the switch. For daily driving the Ridgeline is way better, for hauling gear the ridgeline is way better, for high speed smooth trail "rally type" offroading the ridgeline smoked my Tacoma, and for icy roads in my experience the ridgeline is a little better. And it DOES offroad! At least the type of offroading most truck owners actually do.

Here's some videos we made of the Ridgeline it actually blew my expectations away, you can see my Tacoma making some appearances in the background we put these trucks through their paces back to back so got a REALLY good comparison: (I work for a dealer group that has both Toyota and Honda):
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQxlolr-zuM

Here I purposely took a bad line trying to get hungup on a rut in the mud pit (to our surprise the ridgeline hadn't got stuck all day so we wanted to see what it would take to get it actually stuck). It still got out on its own and I didn't even know to put it in "sand mode" which would've locked up the rear end for me and made it easier.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIcPfCxXhfg

Again, there's obviously a lot of offroad situations the Tacoma could handle while the Ridgeline would ripoff its front bumper or overheat the differentials trying to power up. But if we're being honest the vast majority of Tacoma owners that "offroad" don't actually take it to those limits, I see it all the time customers tell me about a sweet offroad spot they hitup only to find out its a freaking fire road lol. I still like to get stupid offroad so I'm staying in my Tacoma, but the offroad capability is really the ONLY objective reason I can see for staying in a Taco and I LOVE my Tacos.

What ISNT a truck. My gfs dad called his new CRV a truck. It's like the ts/tv/post op/pre op/tg/gay/bi/ stuff. What was, isn't, and what IS, could possibly be something else. Under a different name. Or not. Choose wisely. I'm still pondering the Tacoma as a "lifestyle" vehicle.
