it's my guess that the is300 studs will be too long.
granted my PC's are the 8069 wheels

that's the studs I used... except I used open end, spline drive, ET lug nuts.
I only installed them up front... the rear studs remain stock but utilize ET lug nuts.
And do not utilize a spacer behind the wheels.

    M12 X 1.5 thread pitch if it's not legible...

    wheelstudspainted1_7b819485c1f38b58b3aa9e760e1a6689c9b8d399.jpg

I also employ a 6mm spacer behind the front wheels to fit my wider 295 width.
With the spacer in place... the studs don't extend outward as far.
But without open end lug nuts... I think the is300 studs will still be too long.

btw... the factory front and rear studs are not the same length.

I thought I read that Toyota Matrix rear wheel studs were shorter...
But I didn't research that further.

purchased the lug nuts on ebay some time back

Thanks dell, yes I will be going open end gorilla lug nuts in the front for now, and just keep an eye on the rear for now till I can do extended in the rear. The gorilla lug nuts are not cheap

You can take a chance on the cheaper ones on Ebay, they should work just as well as the Gorilla's.

It is what I did, 3 years back, working fine, up front where the studs are shorter...

Tho' longer thread... those are not extended thread lug nuts.

The extended threads need be below the tapered/conical 60* seat.

these are open end ET lug nuts... but not spline drive

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Set-of-24-C...ash=item5d3f1dc4ca:g:xdMAAOSwyQtVynto&vxp=mtr

It's possible you could use the Gorilla ET tuner lug nuts
and cut off the caps so those have open ends.
But do it with a wet saw so as not to create heat.

    like these ie: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-SPLINE-ET...ash=item1ec14c14f2:g:7dEAAOSw3v5YnWwK&vxp=mtr

I believe your wheels use a conical 60* seat.

But I don't have those wheels so you have to tell me ?

The ET (extended thread) needs to insert into the wheel lug openings
in order to thread onto the stud inboard more.

The open end will not be as critical if you install studs that are not too long.
And the lug nuts can thread down fully without bottoming out on the stud.

The Gorilla ET lug nuts are longer then the originals
and can accept using a longer stud.
Is it enough... I do not know and would be dependent on stud length chosen.

Measure the original studs... determine the extra length of stud needed.
And find a lug nut that threads/seats fully on the stud length you utilize.

You need use the ET style shank so those extend into the wheel's lug nut wells
because of the added thickness of the wheel's alloy center chunk.

Do not confuse with mag wheel lug nuts as those have a flat seat.

I can no longer find an ebay listing for the ET, open end, tuner lug nuts that I purchased.

You may not extend the studs length if you purchase the Gorilla ET type lug nuts.
They will thread in farther on the original studs... and could be enough.
Remember 7 - 8 turns on the stud should hold up and stay tight.

Thanks, will be measuring the original studs over the weekend. There are a few ebay ones I was looking at today at a much cheaper price, yet they have good reviews. Don't need anything fancy, so I will check those out.

Yep with the Lexus studs, they'll be too long and you will need the open end lugs. Even with a 1/4 spacer. I ended up cutting the caps off my regular lugs I bought from the parts store because I didn't wanna wait to order more.

As far as trying to find and use et lugs instead, Idk bout dah. Iirc I tried some, but the shank wouldn't fit through the wheel hole. Btw I'm running the same style 7069's. 15x10.

Why don't you just buy bolt on spacers?? I wished I had done that instead. Would've been cheaper. Plus waaaaay easier. Those studs aren't the easiest to install.

Either way, subbed to see how it turns out if you do get some et lugs that fit. Although I think I'll eventually be swapping back to factory studs and bolt on spacers. Reason being, some tire shops will not service a truck with the 1/4 spacers. Only if they're bolt ons. And my wheels rub calipers so using just et lugs on oem studs won't work.

Your right. Maybe it's a better idea to go with spacers. @TacoDell how hard was it to install the extended studs?

I had a helluva time myself. I ended up pressing in the studs instead of pulling them. Used the c clamp ball joint tool. It was a bitch that way, but was all I had on hand that would work. And didn't wanna order the correct tool as I didn't wanna wait. plus didn't want to try and impact them using the washer method or anything like that.. I had to bend the dust shield in one spot. Install one, rotate hub, repeat, all while juggling the ball joint tool around. Lol. Oh well, it worked.. I really would suggest trying to use some bolt on spacers instead. The smallest they make is .75". And is the way to go if you're running 8 wides. Of 10's, it may end up pretty wide. That's what I'm afraid of with mine. But is the better way to go regardless. Plus I kinda doubt et lugs would fit anyways. Most have like .61" bore I think. At least on mine, the hole bore is smaller than that. You can always measure your holes too with a micrometer. If you decide to opt for that route, before you order them.

This is the tool to use tho.

I thought it was rather really easy...
I just put a double nut on the ends so the existing studs wouldn't get thrashed,
and tapped them out with a small hand held sledge hammer.

If rust is of issue... spray with break free and let soak in a little bit
before attempting. but I didn't do the rears and we don't have rust here in the SW

Back on the road guys. I just ended up installing the extended studs up front with the open end lug nuts @TacoDell recommended. Re checked torque after 70 miles and all seems fine. As you can see the lug nuts in the rear fit just fine, and figure it would be a pain in the neck to install the studs. Many thanks for all the advice.

good job of getting that done... easy weren't it ?

I'd re-torque those lug nuts every 100 miles up to 500
then you can be sure those studs have seated fully.

guess you didn't want to hassle with locating a shorter length replacement stud ? Lol

You got enough stud thread protruding that you could put a locking nut on top the lug nuts !?

I'd have wished mine were slightly shorter...
but I'm not spending more coin just to shorten the studs by 6mm.

Tho' I don't need to... this thread has me again wanting to change my rear drum stud lengths.
~ Hopefully I'll soon forget... as I did the last time it came to mind ~ Lol

oh yeah... clean up that rust scale on the Rr drums then rattle can 'dem with Hi temp black. (not black BBQ paint)

'least then yer junk won't look as neglected
    :p

Haha yea easy enough for me to do. ( mechanically challenged ) lol

Will get them drums painted once we get some nice temps here :D
Hate this weather, we are suppose to get 2 feet of snow by tomorrow :(

It looked like a bi$!#t to take the axle out in order to fit the extended studs on the rear, so I left it alone for now
