Go walk around gate 2 and eventually some old japanese lady will try to pull you into a bar and you'll see the banana show.

From my Okinawan Ex, she told me it's some old hag that has Military guys eat chopped up bananas from her crusty vagina...
If this is what RLX is talking about.

Let's just say she cuts up a banana without using her hands. Don't ask me how I know.

hahahaha oh this thread is going beautiful places.

This is why I say Japan is worthwhile trip for anyone just for the WTF moments.

I remember walking into a store in Akiba and literally the first thing I see is a comic book that is an anime character (from a very popular anime series at the time) lifting up her skirt and taking a steamy dump onto a plate... In explicit detail.:poking:
Also, walking into the gay porn section because I misread the kanji. (OK to be fair I did see "女" which I KNOW is "woman" but apparently the men touching winkies gets filed under "adult materials FOR women")

Akiba is a... special place. Then again they also have cute girls dressed up as french maids who will wait on you at a cafe for ungodly fistfuls of yen.

Okinawa and Japan "proper" are the same nation -but unless a lot has changed --there are still a lot of differences in the cultures of the two places. Okinawa was mostly controlled by the good ole USA till the early 1970's. This alone has had a large effect on the culture of Okinawa.

Gate 2 is a ghost town now due to the alcohol restrictions and curfew. E5 and below have to be back on base by 0100 and no one can drink past 0000. Oki is still a great place to be stationed from what I hear, but the glory days are long gone (at least until the Marines are relocated to Guam)

Classic case of a few "bad apples" ruining it for all. More than a few cases of our not being well behaved guests in another country. The conventional wisdom of those in the local economy on Oki is that the fences on the bases were to keep the criminals in not out.
