You've heard of RTT (Roof top tent) Well, now we have TRT (Tie rod tent)

 

wouldn't it be a RBT? Roof bottom tent?

 

something seems to have died in the wall or attic by my closet and I can't find it to remove it. So now I'm sitting at work smelling a whiff of decay everytime i move. I should schedule a meeting in the smallest conference room we have so others can enjoy it too.

 

Any of y'all ever deal with MOTIVE GEAR? Got a chance to grab a set (F & R) 4.10 gears with install kits for CHEAP. (About $370 shipped) That should get me about 1.5% lower than stock gearing with stock rubber if my math was square. I've done HUNDREDS of ring and pinion swaps, so there won't be any labor cost (besides beer) Not too familiar with their product line. Would like to know ahead of time if they're brittle, cheap gear sets.

 

You know how to set up gears?

 

Yep! Used to do 'em for a bunch of drag racers back in the '70's and '80's. Dana 60's, Ford 9", and 12-bolt Chevy. Did 'em for 2 SS/AA Hemi Cuda's. If they held up to that, they were obviously right. Did a number of Jeep "corporate AMC" diffs on Jeep CJ's, and 1 of my earlier Toyota's. Haven't done one in about 10 years. Thought I'd do mine for practice and if it went well, maybe start doing them on a regular basis.

I probably will. Only requirement is the diff has to be out from under the truck. I had a couple people hit me up to do 'em with the diffs still in place. I'm old and beat up from years of dirt bikes. Can't do 'em under the truck. Also gotta buy a new dial indicator and mandrel. Mine grew legs and walked off.

 

I haven't heard much about them but I know a lot of the jeeps locally run them though.

 

Does anybody know if the bed is the same 3 gen is the same as the 2nd gen.

 

As far as bed mats bed covers and such yes but not camper tops

 

She's getting there… Upper control arms are rebuilt thanks to Mike and Gideon for the assist! Adjusted the coil overs The best I can until I get the heavier coils. Wheels and tires go on Monday and hopefully the sliders will be on Monday evening. Woot!!!
