Walmart has 0w-20 5 quart jugs for 25 dollars and Mobil 1 is offering $12 rebate essentially making the oil around $13. Limit of 2 rebates per household. I was able to pick some up for the wife's prius and since my new truck hasn't been delivered yet, figured I could always save it for the 1k mile change!

    Cheers,
    Travis

Yep, you can always find a good use for 10 quarts of synthetic! I think my local wally world has it marked incorrectly but they were selling the Extended mileage one for the same price.

Thanks for the tip! Question though. 1K mile change, thats a new one, I figure it was just 5k even if it's after the break in period. (not really a question?)

I have always changed our new vehicles between 750 to 1500 miles to swap out the oil and get rid of any metal shavings. I fully understand that the filter should catch most of it and if the shavings are heavy enough it'll just sit at the bottom of the oil pan but for $30 dollars its a nice piece of mind for me.

Awesome! Make sure you call San Antonio tonight and make sure none of the workers come to work hung over tomorrow and mistakenly short you on rear diff fluid! :fingerscrossed:

I always do the same on new engines, even if it is not necessary.

The old saying is that you don't want a vehicle built on a Monday or a Friday, not my choice as they picked the day, lol.

Yea fair enough. I might just do this as well if my escrow would hurry up and close. Can't do car maintenance in a apartment complex :frusty:

Back in my college days, my roommate and I changed out his alternator in the parking lot in the dead of winter. Not ideal but it can be done!

Great deal, unfortunately it would require me to shop at walmart.

That sucks. I'm pretty sure I got a prepaid card back in the mail, that shit always takes soo long. I'd buy it and use it regardless..
