The most intelligent statement I have seen on this forum in a long time.

The mods have allowed a very acidic environment to develop in the 3rd gen section... It's unfortunate.

If you spend some time in the 1st or 2nd gen sections it is much different... they post lots of complaints and problems too but the threads are productive and not just 10 pages of foolishness over and over. I honestly believe it is a handful of people in this section and perhaps if their posts get deleted things would stay on track a little better.

With all due respect, are you millennials in need of safe space? There are plenty of threads where there are guys fist pumping each other because they love everything about their trucks.

I hope Tacomaworld never becomes a safe space.

This place is a safe place. I've had entire posts disappear because of what I assume to be "abrasive" comments.

2016 was a record setting year for Tacoma sales since 2002 maybe ever. I didn't know that. Which makes me think if the 3rd gens are such crap, why are people still buying them?

Only the last quarter of 2015 was made up of 3rd gen Tacoma sales and all of 2016 was 3rd gen tacomas. If the issues were so bad, wouldn't Tacoma sales have plummeted.
It's also interesting that 2008-2011 the sales dropped off and didn't pick back up until 2012. Which does make sense because post 2008 was the Great Recession when many people lost their jobs or took pay cuts and couldn't afford new vehicles.
Also 2009-2010 was the period when gas was $4 a gallon. New car shoppers weren't interested in gas guzzling pickup trucks around that time and preferred cheap fuel efficient economy cars that got 40+ miles to the gallon.
Pickup Truck and SUV sales are on the rise for now but I bet when the next economic downturn happens and when gas goes back up to $4-5 a gallon consumers are going to be buying priuses and other hybrids like they are going out of style and truck/SUV sales are going to plummet.

problem is when the Pro Tacoma group get a leg up on the whinny entitlement crowd usually its the Tacoma enthusiast who gets the boot and the armchair warriors that start the with the frackous get a pass.

Yup, dick swinging at it's finest. Would have posted a pic to add to the effect of this post but with afterthought, that might be too much. :bananadead:

They aren't joining to bash. That's just, to use Toyota's phrasing, a normal characteristic of a 3rd gen owner.

People join because they start googling "2017 tacoma rear diff howl" or "2016 tacoma vibration issues" or "2017 Toyota Tacoma transmission slipping" and they get directed here. Then they join to ask for help or post feedback. They end up bashing once they realize that everyone else is equally frustrated at the lack of corrective actions on this "ultra reliable, bullet proof" Toyota truck.

And then after they join the White Knights badger and belittle them until they do not come back. Many times that sucks because sometimes they have issues that people here would like to know how they were resolved.
