What's wrong with that? If it's not on fire, it's fine. And if it's on fire, we didn't touch it.

Thanks, I'll be careful. Dealers are brutal I'm buying a 38k truck and the guy told me has to charge me to reprogram my TPMS after I put my new tires on.... I purchased new ones and had them installed in the new tires and wheels already. $140 bucks. I would go tell them to pound sand except i know that they would sell the truck I ordered for more money in about 2 days. Long Bed Off Road in MGM with JBL are very rare, I had to wait 4 months.....

I ran my own wiring to the back of the truck because I already installed the power tailgate lock and I wanted the cap interior light to be on an always hot circuit so I could use it when the truck was off. I also added an always hot 12V outlet in the bed while I was at it. I ran the wire in wire loom and covered that with heat shield tape to match the factory wiring under the truck.

That being said, the cap installer did an exceptionally good job with the remaining wiring. We both complimented each other on the quality of our respective work.

Edit: I also fluid filmed the heck out of the underside and didn't want to make the installer deal with the mess underneath.

I declined the in cap lighting for that same reason. I want to do my own bright LED's with a 3 way switch in my cab and at the back. So I'm just going to do all the wiring. Planning on running a larger 12V wire to the rear for extra trailer power and accessories anyway.

You can buy the ATEQ quickset tool for $120 and reprogram the trucks ECU with the new TPMS ID's yourself. You need the ID numbers of your new TPMS sensors which your tire shop can read using a trigger tool if you didn't write them down before having them mounted. Sell the tool when done or keep it if you'll be doing a summer/winter tire swap.

I ran a 10 guage wire directly from the battery (with a fuse at the battery) to power the 12V outlet and lights.

.... let me catch my breath.

    OK... aaaaah ... NO!

If you're only changing the tires, you don't need to have the TPMS(s) reprogrammed if you are using the original TPMS(s) on the original wheels on the original truck. They are already programmed to the truck. He's blowing smoke up your a$$.

I personally didn't bother reinstalling the TPMS with new tires and wheels. When I look at my dash I see a fat yellow tire with an exclamation mark in it. That tells me, "Hey dude, there are big-ass tires on this truck!"

    I'm good with that.

@taczilla My truck has readouts for individual tire pressure (3rd gen) and i want that so i cant just disable like you.... Also I didnt want to to pull the OEM tires apart and have them re-mounted just to get TPMS out just to sell them to someone who needs to pull them apart and re-install TPMS... I get my tires mounted for free so i bought new sensors and will probably end up programming them myself with the AUTEL. So the dealers not that bad, still they should do it for free! Hoping i can get 100 bucks extra for my OEM wheels because they have TPMS already. I'll be listing them up here somewhere.
