That's what happened to my 98, but I doubt I would still have that one. That however is why I will stick with yota until they do me wrong.

Hers had almost 170k and needed a clutch, which we gladly would have paid to do if the buyback didn't happen. That made me say if I ever bought foreign it would be Toyota. GM's hosing me on my Colorado was the push for me..

Yeah, did hear once or twice about that

Haven't heard anything about that yet

True on all Tacomas for the last 12 years, right?

The thing that I learned about 17' Tacos that really turned me off was that the oil filter is a canister/filter type rather then the modern self contained type.
Since I prefer to do my own changes it makes a difference.
Other than that I had not heard that many complaints and I know 2 owners.

But if we heard once or twice on a forum about it imagine how many more failed that we will never hear about on TW

Yeah, but then again there's thousands of us here who haven't had that problem. I don't like the sound of a .2% failure rate but it's not a widely recognized flaw, like the CPS sensor or the driveline vibes (that every truck suffers from)

You Yota fanboys and apologists are the reason they get away with selling this bullshit without fixing it.

You're willing to get boned and put up with howls, vibes, and crap transmissions. Toyota is lucky to have customers with such retarded standards.

My Tacoma is the only Toyota I've owned with less than 100,000 miles, and I've never had a problem with any of my other ones.

When my friends Fords and Dodges are breaking every other week I'm still happy I drive a Toyota.

Apparently the issues are out there and CR has picked up on it.

I've driven at least 2 dozen 3rd gen Tacomas. They all had diff howls except my last loaner...which was still present but I really had to listen for it.

So to answer your question. I imagine very few don't actually have issues.
