I've been carrying a 20lb propane tank in a milk crate strapped down in the bed for the past summer.

    F4B89E0D-7B4D-4514-8D7E-96910228B72D_zps_4df3beb46bb39752216fba6bf53f1d14d40b09e6.jpg

It's worked well but am thinking of building a set of drawers and such and am looking to move it outside the vehicle.

Show us how you carry your tank(s) and let us know if you recommend it

    Thanks!

MT stuff, RTT stuff, the usual.
I'm currently using the milk crate method. Once I get settled into the new house,I'll prob buy a small tank and figure something new out. Might get a HC rear with a swingout, if so then might mount it off the swingout somehow.

I have mine in an aluminum round baking dish bolted to the rack then ratchet strap for hold down power. It's low profile so the dish just stays on the roof. Tank never moves & it cost $5!
Many more options with the smaller tanks.

Was going to do a DIY Holder to the Frontrunner Rack, But I concluded the Frontrunner one was good enough. Many trips later, it’s confirmed,. It’s great. Easy one and off. Secure and Lockable.
