Arb tire deflator vs Staun tire deflator

What's your opinion on the better option for a tire deflator? I'm kind've lazy so I'm leaning towards the Staun... What do you guys think?

The ARB tire deflator where you do each tire manually...


Or the Staun deflators that do all 4 at once?


UPDATE:

Got the Staun tire deflators. Took a bit to set them up. Ended up putting them on all four tires, turned the car on and got the reading of each tire, and then adjusted each individually. After turning the car on like 20 times, I got them all exactly at 15.

Been offroading twice now with them. Just walk around and put each one on... By the time you get the last one on the first one is just about down.

Threw on some loctite also so they stay there.

Love these things! So worth it.

 

I like my Staun deflators.

 

Do 3rd gen give you psi readout on the dash? If so... staun all day long

 

Ya they do, but it takes a few minutes to calibrate after you turn the car back on. Not real time...

 

You don't need a readout, you set them to the PSI you want and they stop when done.

 

Is it pretty easy to get them all to the same PSI? I know they come set at 18, but I usually run 15.

I like the ideal of the staun but after destroying a cap my last time off roading i'm not sure I would want to risk breaking the staun.

 

But don't you put them on, deflate, and then take them off before you start wheeling?

Staun. Used them for 10 years. Set them all once to your desired psi, then when you are at the tail head just walk around the truck putting them on each corner. They deflate the tire to the set psi and automatically turn off. Walk around and remove in the same order. By the time you have the 4th one installed, the first one is about done.

 

You don't leave them on. You remove them after the tire pressure drops.

 

I should add Smittybilt makes a Staun knockoff for way cheaper. Personally I run Staun, but my brother has run the Smittybilt without issue.

No way these are the same quality as the Stauns though...? Probably went out the back door of the factory Smitty built is using... At cost the Stauns must be at least $15 to make

 

Didnt realize you dont leave them on. I just figured they where meant to replace the caps all the time. When i think about it its the same amount of work or easier than the arb ez-deflator. Looks like i may have to order a set.

Don't have stauns to compare them to but have had them for two years and the get the job done. The set on my Tacoma are set to 16 psi and on my crawler to 8psi. Setting them up takes a bit of trial and error but that goes for all of them. After I got mine set up I put a few drops of locktite on them. After I air down on the trail I still check tire pressure with a digital guage.

 

It is easy enough to make something that looks the same. The real test is if you set them to 12psi, use them a few times and then check that your tires are actually at 12psi when they shut off. I always double check my tires with a digital pressure gauge with my Stauns and they are spot on.
