This is what they would look like texture powercoatedScreenshot_2017-03-02-19-22-59.jpg I think they look well. Everybody else has Pros don't want to be like everybody else. Powder coat should cost about $100 Pre wheel

Buy from @JaysTRD. He had a few sets of the pros for under $900. Run your stock tire for now and it should be the look you're going for, but better. I would have gone that route if I didn't buy the 4runner pros. When I wanted them, they were nowhere to be found. Now that I bought something, they are everywhere. Lol. Story of my life.

There's a wheel place in Tempe that charges reasonable prices to powdercoat wheels I believe. I almost pulled the trigger with my bmw back in the day but decided to sell it. (Doesn't really help OP)

Check the regional forums for your area too. Might find some recommendations for local shops that can help you out. https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/northern-california.42/

Not a close up but I went with 16" Pro wheels from an FJ. Ended up costing me a couple hundred after selling the old rims.

Yeah. I realized how stupid it was when I was dipping my badges and I'm scratching at my truck with a damn toothpick to get it out from inside the letters and I never could get it perfect. So now I'm into doing things the right way the first time. So I took them off and I'm painting them.

Powder coated mine and painted the center caps. Always be able to find a OEM center cap. That was the main reason I stayed with OEM wheels. My last two trucks always ended up missing after they discontinue a after market wheel, good luck finding center caps for them.

I had mine powder coated satin black for about $350. Check my build thread for pics, I think they look pretty good.

Leave them alone. It won't be terribly long until the trend of black wheels begins to fade, then you'll be on the leading edge.

I mean right in this thread we're seeing the death of plasti-dip. There is hope for the madness to end!

Black wheels will always be in with darker color vehicles. I though the same things when I painted my 2008 Tundra OR wheels. Everyone wants to be Batman.

Almost nothing is 'always' in. And '08 isn't even a hiccup ago in automotive trends.

What about all the clear corner markers, Altezza taillights, etc. that were the must haves of the 90's?

Here's the kiss of death. When an OE sees the popularity of some trend, and makes it standard on their vehicles. IE when there are lots of black wheels rolling off the showroom floor, folks will start wanting something different............

Most of the chrome hater black wheel crowd don't even know who K.I.T.T. was. :D

Speaking of KITT, did you see Mr. T is on Dancing With The Stars now. As for KITT, on the Oscars last week they mentioned a appearance of the most famous car in the world would be on it. I went to KITT right away, but it ended up being the Delorian from Back To The Future.
