ah I see, I notice the ones on igor are really tall, those wouldn't limit the up travel?

 

The front ones are superbumps, super bumps are VERY soft compared to stock. The compress a lot. So much so that that is why i left a stock on on there to make sure my shock doesn't bottom out.

I also cut 3/4'' off.

If you don't set the bump height right, yes, it will limit uptravel, not always a bad thing depending on the situation.

Just curious if you guys thought that $80 for a set of toytec coils with 80000 miles on them was a good deal. Would they still have a lot of life left in them . they are for first generation and I saw them on Craigslist. He has fair for conditions

Yes they are 297/70-17s just a little bigger than a 33

 

I tried.

But short of epoxying it to the lid, it kept falling off with the weight of the cords, pens, flashlight, etc

So, 2003 Prerunner DC, 2.7L. Mall crawler.

Stock bumper, but a "would like to" item is front and rear bumpers, but its down on the list.
I am thinking, if I was staying stock bumper we are talking 550 lb springs.
With a bumper, 600 lb becomes the right answer?

Back will be Deaver J59s and probably Billy 5100/5125.
Although I am really wondering if those custom 8/9 leaf Deaver FS could be downsized to J59 by removing a leaf. OTOH, the front will give me the most change now, and then I can do the rear.

I don't see a need to lift further, but I was reading about people choosing 5125 for long travel, and that will give more options.

 

you can keep the 600s. however, put that a 0 and mean like absolutely NO preload. Undo the collars until there is no tension on the coils. Then spin them on. after they make contact. Go like 1 thread on the passenger side and 3 on the driver side.

Will ride like a dream.

5125s are not for longtravel lol

5125s just come in more lengths so people use them as a cheap rear shock to get close to the size they need. So they can provide LONGER travel number, not long travel.

J59s can ride awesome, not a super beefy pack, and yes, always can remove a leaf.

The coil overs will be nice as you don't need to add lift, mine road amazing before i added preload, barely any really, so you'll be fine there. The leafs are hard to say especially as if you're replacing stock suspension it'll still seem like you get a lift from all of this because right now its so low and saggy.

 

5125s are whoop eaters for sure.

Is theft of them an issue?
I always mount mine (EZ-Tag down here) right behind the rear view mirror where I can never see it, so it never bothers me.
