So ill be heading over to Delaware shortly (unfortunately). Truck is already en route. What can I expect when I get there. I want the good, bad, and ugly. Curious because I don't see much on the forums about the place, and peeking at craigslist, not many Tacoma goodies.

Depending on what part of the state you're gonna be in, you'll either get tourists or the ghetto haha. I'm in the southern part and theres beaches and farms and all that good stuff but up passed sussex county it gets into the orbit of wilmington and philly so its real urban.

As long as you don't mind suiting up! The older I get, the colder the water feels! :)

Born and raised in Delaware, just recently moved to Denton which is only 15 miles west of the state line.

There are lots of good, and lots of bad.

The state itself is cheap as far as property tax and housing market.

Most of New Castle County is now the suburbs of Philly and it's gotten pretty rough. Kent County is fair, Middletown has blown up in market as far as shopping and housing. Dover is a shit hole now, unfortunately. My ex and a bunch of friends are all Dover PD, and they tell me how bad it is getting. Camden is where I grew up and it is practically Middletown now.

Sussex County is either farm land or beach resorts.

There isn't a ton to do in the state and if you want to offroad, you will be going to PA, NJ or VA for legal trails.

DO NOT SPEED THROUGH SMALL TOWNS. These towns have no incoming revenue and they literally fund most of the towns budget through traffic tickets.

Yup, that makes sense. Not a bad commute from Milton or Lewes to the AFB.

He's exaggerating quite a bit. You'll be fine. There's nothing particularly appealing about Dover, but it's not a shit hole. It's not a big city, if you can even call it a city...more like a town. There aren't many things to do there. I would look at living off base somewhere around Milton, DE. It's small town life. But the beaches aren't bad and you won't be far from good places to hang out in the summertime.
