That's the truth. Even if you're doing it in your garage unless it's heated the primer won't adhere well to the metal, and the bed liner won't adhere to the primer or itself well between layers. You're better off waiting until the spring.

When I had my taco prepped/ painted my front bumper in my basement which while not directly heated is kept warm by the furnace (50 deg or so in the winter). Even with a ton of prep work, light primer layers etc... It still flaked pretty bad.

Ya I did think about that so I got a few ELECTRIC heaters and I'm thinking/hoping that'll be satisfactory? ??? :notsure::help::notsure: but I'm impulsive as fawwk when it comes to getting these bumpers done and installed

Trust me you're better off waiting for next week or spring. Mine are easy to touch up but I still don't like doing it due to paint not adhering well.

If you decide to do it tomorrow make sure you get the skids to ambient temp too. Don't just turn the heaters on and go to town, the metal needs to be above 60 degrees iirc for good adhesion

Yes minimum plus stay at that temp long enough to cure. If it doesn't dry enough in between coats, the end result won't be what you are looking for

Sounds per usual. I usually pull out 15-20 minutes after "arriving".

    Too soon?

Yep, like these guys have been saying, hold out for warmer weather. It's exciting to get it all on the truck, but once you realize you'll have to remove it all to paint it all over again you'll be kicking yourself when you think about how much of a pain it is to mount and remount all this stuff. :frusty:

Ya I decided to just do all the prep work and por-15 and wait for a warmer day to do the bed liner, and I'm gonna do it in my basement today it's about 60 down there so that should be good to go.

Steve brought two buddies and I think it helped with the Meet-up coordination. Dumb luck really. A few wanted to join us but couldn't so it was almost 3 more!
