Thats an art too but a monkey can lay a bead with mig or stick... tig is alot more concentration because you are adding th rod AND heating the metal. Seperatly.. with stick and mig its at the same time and only 1 thought

Not the same at all! Concept of heating ehh... part of my job in the CG is brazing and soldering... brazing also isn't permanent... yes its permanent as long as its not heated up but you can undo it

Thanks, I've been using my millermatic 141. I dropped it off at mobtown for powdercoat. Can't wait to see how it turns out. I hate how most 3rd gen bumpers contour the grill so I welded that to make it flush all the way across. I had issues with the left side and the welds weren't coming out correctly. Not sure what I was doing wrong

Was just talking about the heating and learning curve as being the same. As in being able to look at the metal and see if it's too hot.

No way implying if you can braze you can weld.

Do what I did. Bring her with you and get her into it.

I'm now building my Wife her own rig. Cough... Jeep... cough, cough...

Also, maybe start by not referring to her as "The old lady" ;)
