Saw a nice 4th gen 4runner today. Never cared for them but never really seen one built nice. How's the v8 in those things? Worth a damn? Aka, can it pull my broke-ass truck?

I saw a sweet one in the mountains when I lived in Arvada. Bumpers and on Kings and all the good stuff. Always thought that'd be a cool rig with the v8. I think they're just hard to come by.

I just browsed CL a bit and it seems to be a pretty easy to find them but pricing varys considerably. Certainly in my comfort zone for a loan and something I would be able to pay off in less than a year. Not sure if they are trouble some or costly to fix though.

I don't think you'd have any issues with the v8. I found it interesting that the V6 makes like 10hp more but torque is at 283 ft/lbs.

That is interesting. Torque is where its at though! Looking for a vehicle that would give me a few relatively trouble-free years but can be a strong contender to replace BabyT if/when the time comes.

The v8 would be sweet if you can find a nice clean one. I can't imagine you'd have any major reliability issues compared to the v6.

So looking into external shop lighting sources. Only problem is we have a 5" gap between top of doors and eaves, so minimal space. So i bought a $97 52" lightbar and think im going to try and power it with desktop power supply. Anyone see a reason this wouldnt work?

Also had an intesting day. Had the cummins fuel filter plug up on i80 and shut me down. Had a state trooper give me a 30 mile round trip to pick up new filter and some ether. Got it running but after 5 miles started plugging up again. Limped it to a gas station, where it choked out and i rolled in close enough to put in some fresh fuel. I lucked out and asked a farmer filling up next to me if he had an extra fuel filter.... he did! After getting it up and running again we finally concluded that the in tank lift pump is taking a shit and apparently has hole in the sock. Limped it home 60 miles and grabbed a different pickup. On the road again!

V8 is a decent motor. I had the v6 and it was plenty as well but a v8 would be awesome. They do look good built up, totally changes it.

Side question, how did you like Arvada? I am hoping to go check it out tomorrow.

On my drive home today from checking out areas I saw a RS4...my god i want one

    Nice!

Slowly by surely. Maybe have enough gear to get into mastering for a while.

Have to watch it later. At work still.

    Damn. Motor in it?

The 2uzfe is a great motor. I'd love a 1st gen tundra. It would tow babyt. Not sure why you'd need to do that though. But a 2nd gen tundra would be much better at that job. or a diesal.

It'll work so long as the rail you plug it into can supply the amps.

I liked it. It was close enough to Denver to be convenient but far enough to where you didn't always have to deal with it.

Not in it but comes with it. RB25.
