Best is to check cable with a meter. Look for continuity between inner conductor and outer sleeve. If shows open, you are good.

Some radios have them included, most don't. And you test the swr at the outer frequencies (1,40) and at the middle (20) and you try to get the swr as low as possible by adjusting the length of the antenna to match a multiple of the wavelengths you are trying to pick up. It's simple, go to rightchannelradios.com there's a write up

Or you can install the entire CB/Antenna/cable before 25th. Several peeps have SWR's and can help you tune at RC.

Ok sweet I'll get everything set up. Does the antenna mount have to be grounded or is that through the cable.

    Thanks

Just got the galaxy 98vhp heavy!! Got it from bellscb in Florida. Did a tune up and installed a switch to turn off or on the 200 watt amp. Shipped to me got it Thursday. Got the Wilson 1000 so they had to ship the whip separate with the post office. Still hasn't arrived. This is killing me. Can't do nothing but look at it.
Can't wait for the RC meet on the 25th. Have so much to do!
