*knock knock* is this thing on?

In my quest for light, I've got some hellas on the way along with a 55w hid kit. Going to try and figure out a good spot to test the output and go from there.

Picked up some 5" driving pattern ones and will see how far they throw since i wanted a little spread as well. May get a spot or two if i still want/need more distance.

Of course, i won't be left with much grill material if i stuff 4 lights in there.

What distance are you shooting for? The planes out around me are flat enough for a good distance

No set distance in my mind. Just want to throw more further. Amazon bar doesn't throw anything far so i need to fill in where it doesn't go. And headlights/high beams are somewhat easily outrun.

There's a few places i that i thought of up here. And the entry to Yankee Hill is pretty straight and flat.

Yea. Don't completely lose faith in led. My semi's headlight are led and they go a good distance and are bright.
But can you get a mile + on yankee hill? I think not :p

Yeah leds are great, and I'll need to keep the light bar or some flood light for my canyon since hids don't like flicking them on and off with the high beams. Different light for different uses.

And maybe not a mile, but it beats driving 2 hours to the plains. :p and there's a few long stretches in the canyon and through the state park that i should have plenty of room and little to no traffic.

I don't know a lot about lights but I can tell you that the craziest bright lights I've ever seen were on @Gramps rig.
Those retina searing, fire starting, light cannons are nuts!
I don't know if he still has them or if he had to get rid of them after the international space station complained when he went up an incline a messed up their orbit with a photon bombardment.

Better to ask what I have not done.
I got an abrasive grinding pad system that's basically glorified scotch bright pads that do awesome if you want to barrow it
