Looking back over my posts from the last week or so, it would seem the pain meds I've been on really F' with my ability to think...

As for my 1st Gen, I looked at it longingly...

I just think it hasn't been waxed or anything for quite some time.

But those little rust specks have to be from some sort of metal shavings or filings embedded into the paint, right? Typical dirt and road grime, etc, couldn't do that to the paint I don't think, but I don't really know.

What do you guys think about this out of curiosity? Blasphemous I know.
I know 95% of the people on TacomaWorld are going to laugh but it's my build. What I want. Doing a 7 way colorshift. Already bought the pearls I want to do it with........ Solis Hypershift. But it's going to be a flat black matte finish.......

    http://www.didspade.com/solis-supershift-pearl/

And I'm going to vinyl wrap sticker bomb the hood, gate, door jams, and wheels......

Our trucks are JDM. Guess mine is more of a ricer. Hahah.

Like I said most of you guys will laugh at this but it's going to be a jaw dropper. Like my Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind headlights.....more fun to come.

Most people will see it too and prolly think it never sees dirt. I think some already do. Or because I'm in Colorado think it's a 2wd because of the prerunner type build and laugh. Meh.....I laugh at the Jeeps when I flash my lights to pass at 30mph on the trail when they're doing 5mph...... : )

i just wouldn't want to pay for a paint job like that and then destroy it. And also cover it with vinyl wrap. That's just me though. Again, im sure it'll be eye popping and different. Your truck already is though with the LT and 35s and pew pew noises. At some point, it's over the top for me and that paint would be it personally haha

But who cares what i think. Your rig, your money, where's the damn photos of it done?

Hahah, thx. You're a good dude. I grew up as a bboy, city, raver so I guess you might see why i do what i do to my Taco. After the military and other adventures Ive been sober for 10 years now. Was going to dip it but figured that would be even more vulnerable to the elements. And I'm definitely not the guy that drags the body over boulders......

Snagged this unicorn of a Gentex mirror with Auto-Dimming, Compass, Temperature AND Homelink. These are offered on higher end 3rd gens, but cost upwards of $300 (since only 3rd gens Tacomas seem to the only modern vehicle that use this Gentex mirror configuration).

I managed to snag this intended for '05 Nissan Titan or Pathfinder. Only $50 on eBay. Most of the Gentex mirror have just compass/temperature, but I wanted Homelink integrated as well (which configuration is rare).

Anyone have experience mounting these? I know it uses a wedge mount instead of the map light mount the Tacoma uses. It's bigger than the original so it'll obstruct the visors a little.

It's model "PART 015633, GNTX-313" off 2004-2005 Nissan Titans & Pathfinders in case you wanted to go find one at the junkyard.

So after replacing the fan clutch and radiator with the truck started it gives a nice, pleasant roar like it breathes better. Is this due to the higher output fan clutch?

Finally got my wireless accessory controller mounted and functioning. Probably not the most elegant wiring job, but it works. The enclosure is about 1/4" too tall. The hood does make a little contact. Fortunately, the brackets flex so nothing is in danger of breaking.

I have some better connectors on the way to make it easy to disconnect everything if I have to. It's held in place with 3M Dual Lock. It's secure and easy to take out.

Only running two accessories at the moment: 108w light bar and two 18w pods.
