Not tough at all. Its a paved 2-lane black top. Only thing is, the upper part is now covered in snow/ice/slush.

Excuse the poor grammar I'm on mobile and just a silly construction worker.

Can't comment on MET but around uncle Tom's you can take forest Rd 12n34 from stumpy meadows to Pollock pines off of hwy 50. Also volcanoville Rd has a dirt road that leads down to the middle fork of the American. Mace mill has a bunch of foresty roads and a fire tower at bald mountain -forest Rd 12n72
If you're guys are feeling super adventurous(if there isn't too much snow) I've heard bunker hill above loon lake is a neat spot.

This was the trip I suggested last week. But my plan was to continue past UTC up to Icehouse. I know a group did it about 3 weeks ago. Now it depends on how much comes down in this storm.

More shit then I ever planned on doing
Use to ride masquito ridge road to French meadows reservoir on my street bike. Bad ass road on a bike but was hella scary on some of those turn that had like 1500' cliffs and no guard rails.

Sorry Jerry, I was invited by a couple friends from outside TW just a couple days ago. I didn't mention it here because most people don't like Sundays....

Lockers, air down to 8-6psi and stay off skinny pedal and you'll have a shot. UTC has some steep climbs that those without lockers could not get up. Ice house reservoir rd is usually plowed. It was when we went thru the last time.

Yes. I don't have beadlocks and have never broke bead in snow, yet.

The bigger the tire (ie - more sidewall), the more you can air down.
I'm on 31's and won't air down past 10 psi.

So since I'm on 33s (285/75/16), 10 psi shouldn't be an issue for me. I could probably go down to 8 like @GHOSTFJ was saying to
