    My Toyota trucks
    1989 4x2 (2 wheel drive) 4 speed manual 2.4lt. Engine. Dark blue(pre dates "Tacoma")

2015 prerunner sr5 v6 double cab 2 wheel drive. Magnetic grey metallic.

2017 Trd sport 4x4 double cab
    Blazing Blue Pearl

The '89 started me down the road of loving these bad ass trucks. No other brand ever came close on reliability or just sheer looks. My dad had a '87 4x2 automatic and I drove that every where.

    I've had 4 trucks:
    IMG_0844.jpg
My dad bought the 89 brand new when I was born. I cut the front fenders and ran 33s (no lift bro)
    IMG_0842.jpg
I bought the 81 back in '07 and sold it two years later - RUF swap, extended front brake lines, moved axel morward, fixed up the interior and had to repair the frame.
    IMG_0851.jpg
Had the 2001 taco from 2013 until 2016. Stock as a rock.
    IMG_0857.jpg
And the 2016 TRD OFf Road access cab. Picked it up in November.

I had a 2005 single cab Mt black sand pearl tacoma.

    Now I have a 2015 prerunner dbcb.

Next new truck will likely be in 2025. I'll make sure to buy a 4x4. I also plan to purchase a first gen 4x4 within the next 3 years so I can really beat it in the desert

I can relate to this! I traded my 2001 Ford Ranger in on my Tacoma and then saw it sitting on a used car lot 1.5 miles from my house. They put some ridiculous price on it.

On their website they took pics of it and seemed proud of the fact that they put tires on it. However it was a $2k-$3k truck with at least 5k or so worth of problems such as:

    Heater core went out

Head gaskets needed to be replaced

    Blown oil pan gasket

Water pump still worked but they always go out at 150k miles

Significant coolant leak (due to blown head gaskets?)

And everything else I can't think of.

Long story short, on one of their close up pics of the front tire I could see coolant pooling in the same way it did on my driveway. They didn't fix a damn thing...just tried to flip it to an unsuspecting customer.

It also didn't pass state inspection so the FAILED INSPECTION sticker could be seen in the picture of the front of the car.

This was my source of entertainment for about two months...now it's gone. Probably got sent to a car auction.

That seems like a pretty reasonable price, even for a 4X2. How many miles did you put on it?

That's identical to my '88, so many good memories. Haven't owned another vehicle that I liked as much.
