Some of my happiest days in the last decade were with my fosters. Also some of my saddest days, it killed me when they left.

Lulu was the first. She was a runner. She was adopted out to a lady in PA.
    IMG_3154.jpg

Then came Billy. Abandoned at a vet, had a lovely pilot offer to fly him over at no cost. Pilots and Paws will forever be one of my favorite causes. Billy/Bam/fatman was adopted by my parents.
    IMG_3712.jpg

Next was Tank, he was so loveable and never wanted to leave my side. He'd scream when I left for work. Poor baby. I thought he was stubborn but I found out later that he's deaf. He was adopted by a wonderful couple in NJ.
    IMG_3157.jpg

Next up was Sam. Sam was a owner surrender. He was a well behaved little fella. He was a perfect dog. He was adopted by a family in GA who lost their previous BT to cancer.
    IMG_3159.jpg

Next up was not a dog I acquired through the Boston Terrier rescue. A guy came into the bank and told me that his puppy ran into he bushes and to call animal control because he's leaving it. The crazy dog lady in me immediately went into rescue mode. After 15 minutes of trying to get through thick brush, I was unable to reach the dog because skirt and heels. Animal control came, got him out. The guy told me he could pretend he didn't find him and I could keep him OR he can go to the shelter but if he's sick, he could get put down. So puppy came home with me. He bacame Hank after my love for Henry Rollins. Spent hundreds of dollars to get him up to date and get him back on track to being a healthy puppy. I let my friend "adopt"/take him and now he lives happily with a busy family of four.
    IMG_3160.jpg

Next up was the meth head dog. I was at a food truck festival with my dog when a woman approached me said she'd like to give me a Boston Terrier. My previous rescue had just shut down after a five year run. The lead folks retired and I was no longer fostering at this point. But I knew I had to take this dog.
We exchanged numbers and I picked up Achilles. Achilles had major eye issues that required surgery almost immediately. My friends knew I couldn't afford all of it by myself so they pitched in. My friends and I funded all of his preliminary vet visits and part of his surgery. With the help of old rescue friends, we were able to find a doctor to work with us on cost and he got all fixed up. I worked with a sister rescue and he was adopted out. Unfortunately I received an email a year ago saying that they were giving him back and I got first dibs. I wasn't in a position to adopt him as I was commuting 200 miles per day for work and was moving. I still kick myself in the ass every day for not getting him back. I'm still heartbroken as he was such a good dog. If he comes up again, I'm taking him.
He may have tried to steal a watermelon one time.
    IMG_3152.jpg
Many many miles driving back and forth to Georgia for surgery and post op checkups. But he we worth it. IMG_3153.jpg

Last dog, Coffee. Coffee was left in a parking lot at 4am when my neighbor rolled up on what was either a dog fight or dog exchange. We took her in as my neighbors had not so friendly dogs. Coffee is the happiest girl. My roommate kept her and took her when he moved out. She's still one of my favorite girls and the best goddogger.

    You're better than me.
I'd end up keeping all of them.

Broke my heart every time. But it was all worth it every time the family would contact me with pics of the pup/new family.

I really admire folks like you that foster/rescue. I would end up with a house full of 30 dogs! Attachment issues. ;)

For me it's different in a way from rescues and fosters from wife's breeders.
I'm glad I said to keep Louie. She is too now.

We use this for our 2 Aussies. Specifically the 23 blade. Works wonders!! FYI....Amazon has them for less.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
Kingsley is my partner all day, my last two dogs never rode in the cab with me, mostly because they rolled on crap whenever they could, but Kingsley doesn't eat shit or roll in it, so he gets to ride in the cab. He also has a kennel under the shell in case I need to leave him in the truck for any amount of time.
    IMG_1434.jpg
He likes to lean against the seat and watch the world go by.
    IMG_1435.jpg
He's the only dog I've ever seen that won't put his head out the window when it's down, he'll actually get closer to me.
    IMG_1438.jpg
Now he's doing this funny thing with both paws on me.
    IMG_1457.jpg
    Pure comedy all day!

I looked at the website, its a great design, but it is only designed for the rear seats, and he's a front seat dog. Also he's not done growing, and they want an exact measurement for the harness. It really looks safe though, thanks for the suggestion.

No problem. I always had mine in back. May have to get 2 for myself. Saw one in person and they're well built.

    Real talk!

We have to monitor my red merle aussie! Her nose is very light colored, and the vet noticed some pigment change. Said it could become cancerous if we don't watch it.

Molly (my Black Lab) and Sandy (my cousin's Yellow Lab) in the kitchen of my aunt and uncle's old house. This was taken around Christmas in 2005. Molly would had just turned 11, and Sandy was about 10½ years old:

The guy you see in the photo is my uncle, and he was carving the turkey. My uncle was known to toss a few scraps to both dogs, so that's what they're waiting for...
