50 states emissions means it meets every state requirement.

On a side note though, if you live in California and buy brand new out of state, California still makes you smog check the brand new vehicle before registering it in california, even if it is a 50 states emissions vehicle.

I was at the dealership and they have their Pro's marked up 15k.....

I would just say to order it online.. There is no way.... I would pay 15k over msrp. I had to fight in Socal to get running board put in and I paid msrp but, that was a fight. i should have drove to AZ and could have got 1-5k off of sticker

Got my 2017 dclb or 4x4 @ Toyota of Orange for 35,800 with 1.59 % apr for 3 yrs. No trade in... Just did my homework (started with price based on truecar pricing) , and shopped around.

All of the dealerships I went into told me the same thing. They are limited on color and 4x4 models so they will not budge on pricing. They start above msrp and won't budge, plus they have all the add ons i dont care for. They play hard, I walk away and they always call back within a week asking me to go back in. Those guys just get disregarded. I make a point to not go back if they were not willing to make a deal the first time around. If a dealership wants to make a deal, they will. Just hold your ground and don't settle. I always say I want all these add ons and in the end, I just tell them I could live without it for the price I started out with. Dealers play their games and so do I. In the end, everyone is happy.

Also it makes it easier to make a deal at the next dealership if you take a photo on your phone of the best written offer deal you've made elsewhere. They always seem more willing to go down when they know you have a solid deal going already.

When I was looking for a new OR 4x4 I went into Bell Toyota, they didn't have what I wanted but took down my name and phone #. They are the only dealer I've ever visited looking to buy who did not ever call me back. Then after buying from someone else, I tried their parts department for the TRD alloy wheels asking if they matched other dealers and they were the only dealer who wasn't willing to go down a penny off the MSRP of them. Eventually I found the best price at Right Toyota in Scottsdale.

the off off roads they won't budge at msrp.

carson toyota so far has the biggest discount at 1600 off msrp.

Elmore Toyota can pound sand saying all other dealers are selling above mrsp and they will be nice and sell it to me at sticker.

The sticker listed out for $39,628. That included te JBL Etune premium stereo, phone charging pad, cross traffic alert sys, blind spot monitor and chrome exhaust tip (I added the 20mm cannon after-market).

With my USAA I got them talked down to $37K. Then when i went to get the tags I was offered a 7 year bumper to bumper warranty For $1200. It covers all computer tech and mechanical gear.

Typically I roll by eyes at the extended warranty. With 27 computers and it being the second year, I thought it might be prudent. (insert trolling here...I even troll my self on this):annoyed:

Its fun to daily drive...even better on weekends:thumbsup:

Anybody buying in socal won't come close to an out of state deal period.

Bonus is you don't get the drilled holes in the front bumper for the plates

    My msrp was 40,428

    Paid 38500 before TTL

Don't buy the warranty through Toyota. Buy your extended warranty through Mercury Insurance. I do this all the time with my new purchases. Got 100k or 7 yr $0 deductible with all the mechanical / electronics covered for $700 for my 2017 offroad.

I bought mine in Ca for just at MSRP. I wasnt happy about it but wanted the truck.
If they want you to pay over thats crazy, just go through costco. They will get you a discount.

Yup, dealer tried to shaft me on trade in. $4500 lol. I just said forget it and bought it without trading in. Sold my trade to another dealer for $6300, which was a little less than I wanted but fair for not having to deal with scammers and crap.

Now we will refinance at a better rate before payment is due and put more down.

Same I ended up paying MSRP.
I shopped around like crazy too, Longo always had the better prices but not my desired configuration. And truthfully I didn't want to drive 200+ miles to the lot.
When I found what I wanted somewhat local (35 miles away) it sold literally 5 minutes before I rolled into the lot. I was so pissed.

I finally settled on a auto transmission (80 miles away). Paid MSRP but I'm overall happy.

Are dealers still asking over MSRP currently? I had a 2012 SR5 but sold it and now thinking of getting one again but this time want to go 4x4. Does the mpg drop about 1 mile from the standard 4x2?

in So Cal there should be none unless it's a Pro. SR5s are $2k off without even haggling. the OR is the pita but Carson toyota has offered $1600 off msrp while other locations are much less

Two things i want to add to this discussion:
    1. Last year i had my civic wrecked and was in a tough situation. After the insurance paid me out, i looked into the tacomas. However, i never thought about the 3rd gen until maybe 2 weeks before the actual purchase. I live near fresno (armpit of California) and their msrp was at least 1k over for a 2wd. So i found one in modesto where they sold me my black dcsb $2400 under msrp. Details were pretty much laid out and it was exactly what i wanted.

    2. I had no idea about the costco plan. I'll definitely look into as my father wants to upgrade from his 1st gen tacoma.
