I know everyone will choose their year of truck but before you vote I want you to think about it. Go back and think about them. All the years, and the innovations made, the comforts, the accessories, et all. Then vote please. Edit for obvious reasons I didn't include the 2016 or 2017. The 16 cause duh. The 17 cause they been out for what 5-6 months. Not nearly long enough to run thru all the bugs or delights.

What exactly do those numbers for each year indicate?

    Appears to be from here:

    http://www.carcomplaints.com/Toyota/Tacoma/

Numbers are people who posted a complaint on that site. The 2009 peak is people complaining about the radio.

A more useful metric would be NHTSA complaints. The same site has that data but not in a by year summary graph like shown above.

Surprised the '15 won the poll. I like the idea of having mine - last of the 2nd gen. BUT I wish I had factory digital clock in the dash and compass/thermometer on the ceiling like some earlier models.

I solved that by adding a clock from a 14 and added a temp/compass mirror but agree those should have come from the factory.

Sorry for a slight derail, but for the temp/compass mirror how are you getting the outside temp? Did you have to add the sensor and was there still a wiring harness for it?

I just like that the poll doesn't include the third gen. It's like we already know those are the worst years.... :crapstorm:

The mirror l bought from Bob's mirrors had everything in it including the temp sensor that you install out behind the grille. The other wiring plug is already in place above the overhead console.

My 09 has been pretty much flawless except for the radio as mentioned. Typical gremlins here and there from mods. But all in all a great truck. No complaints what so ever.

Sorry I'll bite, why 'duh' on the 2016? The shifting issues with the 6-speed?

Compass/temp is an easy addition but yes, it was BS they weren't offered from the factory
