Below message from SPC on my BJs. @Sandman614 @ahspurlock I only see axial movement in mine. I think that is OK, based on this. do yours have axial movement ?

    James,

I do need to have you check one thing before we go on to the warranty process. The SPC ball joints do have an internal, spring loaded wear compensation system. So, if tested with the OEM ball joint checking procedures, the joints will let their post travel into the ball joint housing a little. This is axial motion. Axial motion is ok, in fact it's part of the design. There can't be any side to side, or radial motion. That would imply internal wear. Please check which direction the play you have noticed is.

If the joints actually have side to side play, then here is the information I will need to process a warranty:

    -original invoice

-approximate miles since arms were installed

-lot #s from joints (On one of the long, flat sides of the gold ball joint housing there will be some numbers stamped: 25470118 XXX. The XXX is the lot #. I would need those from both sides; they may be the same or different.)

-a couple of cell phone pics of the joints

    -best ship-to address

SPC has two procedures for warranty returns. The first involves you sending us the old parts first. When they arrive, we then send out a no charge order with the replacement parts. Because many people want the replacement parts at the same time the old ones are removed, there is a second way. Here, we send out the replacement parts with a core charge which is refunded when the old parts are returned. SPC accepts VISA, MasterCard and PayPal for the core charge. Either way, I need to get you an RA number to identify the return, but the RA and replacement order are written up differently depending on which procedure you would like to use. Also, either way, SPC covers the freight of the replacement order while you are responsible for the return of the old parts. I usually suggest a USPS Flat Rate box or ground UPS or FedEx; whatever is the most economical.

Once you have confirmed if the joints have play in the wrong direction, please contact me with the information needed.
