Below is my invoice. I did get the free compressor from them and will get a $950 reimbursement when I return my cores.

So I will have spent $2185 without labor as I am doing it myself, with help from the local TW guys ;)

Add gear oil for the break in and then again afterwards. It's less expensive by the five gallon bucket.

Question, would this be the safest / most efficient / least expensive / easiest way for doing a re-gear. I do have a 3" lift with 285/70/17, the only reason I am considering a re-gear is 1. eliminate the transmission constantly shifting due to the larger tires and 2. I tow a 25' travel trailer and I would like more torque when towing. I don't wheel / off road the truck, other than finding fishing holes or kayaking spots. As I read through this thread, i'm getting concerned with the durability / strength of this set up, especially when towing. Am I reading too far into this thread in regards to my needs. I don't want to blow a rear end while towing my TT, on a trip where i'm 1000 miles from home. I was looking at this same set up and and I was under the impression that this would work well for what I do with my truck.

Thanks for the input...Great thread too.

Im assuming you have the V6, if so look at getting the 4.10 gears out of a 4 banger. Even 4.56's i think you would be way over geared at just a 33 inch tire, the 4.10's would put you back at close to stock gear ratios.

Yes, I have a 2013DCSB, 4.0 V6, I was considering the 4:88 only because I wanted more torque when pulling my Camper, the difference in RMP's isn't that much more, from 4:10 to 4:88, I know 4:10 will put me back to pretty much factory, I was just considering more, without damaging anything in the long run due to the towing I do, camper weighs about 5700#'s loaded.

4.88s would be way too high, and 4.56 is really pushing it. Id go 4.30 is probably where you want to be at. Don't worry about breaking it especially while towing. The reason warrens broke was because the rearend of the truck went airborn and surprisingly the rear gears went before the ujoint.

I'm glad I read this thread, so ultimately I am really looking at 4:30 to achieve what I am looking for. Great to know...much appreciate it...Glad I didn't pull the trigger yet, I was pulling the trigger next week too.

Also, call them because on the new vs used bearings they said most the time the bearings are in perfectly good shape and they would not recommend new so that will save you 200$

I found that I could get the oil cheaper from Amazon than ECGS.
You can use Tundra gears. They come factory with 4.30s.

That's correct. The only 4.30 that I know of was a stock ratio for older Toyota trucks. However, it does NOT fit in the front clamshell to my knowledge.

PS: I pulled the trigger on the ARB stuff (front and rear). Couldn't resist. The a regear for both diffs and adding the Harrop Elocker only saved me 20% off a full ARB front and rear setup with the regear AND onboard air. That made the decision easier. ;)

What size? Easy was to tell is jack up the truck put spare since its original size
Spin the wheel 10 times and count the number of rotations the driveshafts makes then divide by 10.
10 rotations shaft spins 37 times than it would be 3.73
