Definitely so, we could build a better designed bender for less than a grand, and that's putting on the bells and whistles.

 

@Tacodriver08 Do you send CAD drawings to your metal shop guys? I build my cabinetry and woodworking in CAD before I build, no reason we can't do the same for metal.

 

You know honestly I should, the engineer in me says I should...but I don't its all on paper....and MS Paint. I measure out, draw the lines for the bend and write in the degree of said bend on the metal before I give it to the machine shop.

 

If you ever want a crash course in Sketchup it's Free to use and pretty easy to get the hang of. I'd be happy to show you. I went from being about 1/8" accurate to at least 1/16" accurate all the time. I don't bother going 1/32" with wood cause glue causes the fiber to swell, but 1/16" is plenty good for cabinetry work.

 

I will keep that in mind! I tried it before when I started on the trailer but ended up going old school with it.

BTW love your trailer, I was going to build one but I didn't feel confident enough in my welding skills. I had it laid out, I was just needing someone with more experience to look over my welds to make sure it wouldn't explode at 75MPH.

Thanks! It was a blast building it, I'd like to do it again one day down the road. If you decide to build one as some point I could pass a look over it if you'd like, I bet you would do fine, you've got patience with woodworking and that's translatable to welding. Or if you wanted I could weld the frame and spring perches for you like Jake had done and you do the rest.

Box is 4x6 than 1 foot in front of the box I can mount my spare tire

 

Perfect size in my opinion. I've been debating on build a gate on the rear to carry the spare for it and put a small fold down table on.

 

All i would need is for someone to weld the frame together....make me a rectangle...I could metal glue everything else myself

I actually stick welded the frame and spring hangers on. My stick welder is 220 so I felt better about the penetration with it. I did 4 passes, probably way overkill but I did it like the pipe-liners do sometimes, 1 root pass, 2 hot passes and 1 cap.
