Trd pro 2 inch lift

Any rubbing?

 

No, no rubbing at all. Haven't flexed it out much yet tho. The ride definitely feels different. Supercharger def helps with the added weight. Steering is a little looser, not as tight as before. Gonna take a bit to get used to. The look is awesome, overall I am very happy with it.

 

Would 5100s be out of place in the rear with Baja or TRD Pro coilovers up front? Mainly looking to update my ageing and tired suspension for something with a small amount of lift. On a budget and considering 883, or maybe Eibach or 884 coils with 5100s, but seems like the Baja/Pro has a nicely tuned ride (probably considerably better than what I listed) and may be worth the extra $?

 

You are very correct. The TRD Pro/Baja suspension is fantastically tuned. (The Pro version is tuned just a tad softer) you can easily go the route you are thinking by getting one of the 2 said coilovers for your front and just having a set of 5100's on the rear. The stock Pro/Baja height comes at 1.75" front and no lift in back. (Just nice heavy duty bilstien shocks with resovoirs)

I've had 4 Tacomas lifted 4 completely different ways, for me I love the TRD Pro/Baja lift the best.

Can someone explain to me, with the trd pro coil overs, roughly how a 1" coil spacer adds an inch to the over all height of the lift? Does it increase the space between the bottom of the spring and the top plate?....and does it make the ride rougher? Getting close to the install and just getting some last questions out. ....just want to understand what it's actually doing and what effects there will be if any. Thanks guys! (can't wait till i'm actually posting pic's rather than questions!.....Soon!)

 

is a seat spacer the same as the coil spacer?, just another name for it?

 

The toytec spacer replaces the top spring seat thus increasing preload just a tad. This is where the 1" increase comes from and I'm told it does technically stiffing the ride just a little but is also unnoticeable.

 

so the spacer goes on the top of the coil?......few pages back has a pic of the spacers and there on the bottom of the coil. Am i missing something?.....Thanks for info too!

 

No , it's different. A coil spacer simply gets slapped on top of the top plate and then you reinstall the coilover. Think of a block spacer.......you don't want that!!!
For the toytec, you need to disassemble the coilover because it replaces the top black spring seat.

 

I do believe there is another "bottom" spring seat that is out there. This one is for the top. And yes, it goes directly on top of the spring. It's also made specially for these coilovers. That's why this one is more popular.

 

ahhh, ok. Just trying to wrap my head around how it's adding the 1" if the coil is compressed in the same space before adding the seat spacer....sorry if i'm sounding uneducated here, lol.

do you think i'll need a sway bar relocate for the 2.75"?....and bump stops in the rear with the full progressive AAL?....(Thanks!, There's light at the end of the tunnel i swear, lol, all these questions are getting me that much closer to the install!)

 

I would say no to both. This is based on me having the progressive AAL on now and not using bump stops, as well as everyone else that has this rear setup not using them. For the front, I've never heard anything at all about needing a relocate when you add the spring seat spacer. I believe that isn't recommended until you hit the 3" mark. You'll still be under this height being at 2.75.

 

Yeah, I haven't seen anyone in this thread even mention them but just thought i'd check ....One more question please, carrier bearing drop kit?....i think it's fairly cheap, should i just get it to have in case i need it? and just return it if i don't?.....Anyone with the 1" spacer can chime in, even though it seems to be on a case by case basis....I'm praying for no vibes!.....Thanks again guys!

 

You won't need that either so don't waste your time getting it. This lift is made for Toyota so it won't give you any problems like vibes.

 

I would think that if it was just the 1.75" in the front but adding the extra 1" in the front and the full progressive aal in the back your beyond what toyota designed for. Believe me i'm really hoping for no problems, lol. I'm going this route (toyota stuff) cause i think it's the closest to stock and should be the least of problems, "should be" being the key words. I value your opinion though and hope your right! I will find out though. Lol....thanks again!
