Did some trucks not have it? My '98 PreRunner has the green ignition cylinder bezel.

Good! Making progress. I finished the overall wiring schematic at like 3 AM today. Suuuuccchhhh a pain in the butt, took me almost the whole day. I can't even imagine how people manage to do wiring harnesses for their whole car. You have to be either insane or really damn skilled to tackle a project like that. Next step is to order all the wire and junction blocks and crap.

Here they are, hopefully my pain will pay off for someone else to do it in the future.

Ouch, looks like a b*tch, are you going to send that out to have a harness made or are you making it yourself

Nahhh man that's no fun! Making it all myself! Shouldn't be that hard since I essentially made wiring pigtails for me to solder to when I cut the kick panel connectors off the donor truck.

My next project is eventually doing the 4x4 conversion and swapping my L4 for the v6. BTW yes I'm crazy.

When people ask me "why don't you just buy a new truck?" and I'm like "That's like buying an assembled LEGO set."

Oh I remember seeing the plugs now, just make sure you use good loom, it can chafe really easy throughout the door panels

I got a whole roll of that stuff at Fry's! Basically I'm only fabricating the crossover harness from the existing complete door harness wiring. I'm inter-connecting the two OEM harnesses and adding relays and a computer control module to do the work that the Integration Module did since I'm bypassing it.

Right on, can't wait to see it, have you figured out what motors you're using for the back windows

There's a guy on here who did it, I have to find out which thread it was. He used the vent window linkage out of a Ford Windstar minivan and welded a custom machined mount with a high torque motor to the extended cab latches. The hardest part of that build is the fabricating and making the Ford linkage work.

I think they were high torque motors from Amazon? It was meant for robotics or something.

I'm gonna do that mod in the future. For now I just want to roll down my passenger window and driver's window at the same time without looking like an idiot. haha.

Alright so here's the deal, it fits and plugs in
    IMAG0482.jpg
Here (Green and White/black wire in the middle of the pic)
    IMAG0483.jpg
Now there's a couple problems, they are fairly simple and shouldn't be too much of a burden.
One, the polarity is switched, so it runs off the dash dimmer and brightens when you turn it down, and darkens when you turn the brightness up. Just swap the wires, simple.

Two, it doesn't screw into anywhere, but it's a tight press fit and with the ignition bezel snapped in I'm sure it's not going anywhere.

And three, I don't know if the black rubber ring is supposed to stay with a Tacoma light ring, (@BartMaster1234 do you have a pic of yours?) but with this one it doesn't, but with a little work with an exacto knife I'm sure you can make a little rubber ring to fit into that gap in between the light and the key cylinder.
Other than that for $20 and basically plug and play I'd say a good damn deal. Let me know if you guys want the link!!

So I just pulled the prongs out and switched the wires, and still dims when you turn the brightness up, guess I'll wire this up myself to the dome light, bummer.

@RedManRocket I was able to get a wired switch to dim by hooking up the ground wire to a yellow and green wire that was in a loose plug on the inner fuse box...I then hooked the illumination wire to the green/ red wire that comes into the other switches in my truck...at first I had the ground wire to the frame and got the same thing your discribing.
