A buddy of mine recently bought a gen 1 Dodge Cummins off craigslist. I gave him a ride over to the guys house, seems like a pretty normal dude, the deal is made and off we go. I'm following him as the tail lights don't work. We get just to the edge of town and there is a cop sitting there and as soon as we pass his lights come on. We both pull over, my buddy explains he just bought the truck 10 blocks ago, hands over license and title. Cop wants to see the registration. He opens the glove box for the first time and finds a black dong the size of my arm inside. Cop doesn't even blink, takes paperwork back to car. I assume he is on the radio telling the story as it takes a while. Meanwhile, by buddy gets out and starts looking behind seat for other treasures. I get out and stand in front of my rig. Buddy throws the dong in a perfect flubbery spiral to me. I return it. This goes back and forth for at least five minutes, and we're both laughing so hard we're crying. Cop returns with papers and a stern warning for no insurance and doesn't even crack a smile. Oregon cops must see some weird shit for that to not even register on the comedy scale.

Yo dudes, im going on a week long road trip through oregon to try to capture as much drone footage and photography as I can pack in. I've poured over all the guides on the web, but im more interested in the secret spots that arent on all those lists. If anyone has any cool places I should hit, let me know. Thanks in advance!

Imnaha, Or. Specifically dug bar on the Snake River. Mountain Goats, Bighorn, Wolves, Elk, Deer, etc. Along the way you will drive by little Switzerland (Wallowa mtns) and see the most awe inspiring terrain in the state, that nobody knows about. Another good one is Strawberry Mt near Prairie City, but you will wear out a pair of snow shoes getting there this time of year. The Steens are pretty cool too. The stuff on the wet side of the state is just a tourist trap, the free side of the state is where it's at. https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/wallowa-whitman/recarea/?recid=51901

Edit: Malheur cave is another good one. Creepy as clowns, but interesting.

If you are in the NE, Boardman is good for gas. They have the cheapest stations. From i84, take exit 164, shell is south of freeway, Sinclair (Dino station) and chevron north of freeway. Otherwise this is a good area to avoid. There are days when boardman smells like rotten, salty sea air, and not in a good way.

It's pretty much a highway, you can drive 55mph on most of it. Like I've seen lowered honda's on it. Lots of traffic in the summer months, RV's, etc. It is very scenic if you've never been there, and Jubilee lake is very family friendly. Last time I was there I would guess there were at least 250 children (there were several school busses, so maybe it was a field trip/church thing, I dunno).

Taken on one of the side roads. I was searching for a downed aircraft that is up there somewhere.

I'm trying to plan the trip to avoid pavement. Do you know which roads are paved?

Get a OBDR map and do as much of it as you want. Goes from top to bottom of the state.
Check out the sticky section, I made some links... but haven't checked over the post in some time.

Skyline drive isn't paved once it gets into the National Forest, but it is a well maintained forest road big enough for two log trucks to pass at speed. There are lots of fun side roads, even a few rock gardens and places that would require 4lo but are passable in a stock rig. That area is the wheelin' spot for the guys from Walla Walla.

Edit: a link to last years OBDR run. Going to try it in June this year. https://www.*****************/forums/threads/oregon-backcountry-discovery-route.1712/

Finally! Got a call today from my contractor saying that my culvert and start of my driveway will be installed on Thursday. Heading out to Christmas Valley tomorrow to do some more clearing. Going tomorrow will make it so I don't have to leave stupid early on Thursday for the 4+ hour drive.
This time, I remembered to put my drill and wire wheel in my truck so I can clean the burnt on sap off of my brush clearing blade while I cut down sagebrush. Hopefully, after this and one more trip to put down rock, I'll be taking a travel trailer out there when I need to work. Strange to be excited about not having to park on the road because my neighbor won't let me park in his unused mud driveway? This will be the last time I have to do it.

Avalanche danger will be high over Santiam pass tomorrow. It's supposed to rain. Rain and 20 feet of snow means we'll see some slides for sure. At least it will be warm in Christmas Valley! The dunes are fun this time of year...

It wasn't bad in CV today. Got a bit of clearing done before my back was done. On the way over here though, there were a few rock slides. Including one that I had to wait for the front end loader to get to work. A few land slides that kissed the road and left a little bit of debris. Crater Lake area was better than my trip last week. Roads were mostly wet, though my windshield did get blasted pretty good when a BMW decided to pass then ride the center line that was full of rock. Gonna do some more clearing in the AM and hopefully be out if here by 1.

so i got my jba uca's installed earlier this week. they said that it created so much caster that they had to adjust my LCA's as well in order to get it aligned. i dont have the alignment numbers but it drives straight. because they adjusted the lca's i have a TON more rubbing than before. not sure if this is also because i put different rims on. (trd pros)

is the cab mount chop thing my only option? i was looking into replacing my 5100s anyway so if there's sometype of suspension that would fix the rubbing issue id be interested in that route as well.
