Just ordered some Bilstein 5100's front and rear for my 03 Tacoma. Thinking of getting new springs but now sure which kind. I've heard to stick with the OME and other suggestions. Should I replace them with the same original stock ones or buy different ones? Also is a different size needed for the 5100's?
    Thanks.

You need to state goals for the truck, how you use it 80% of the time and a general budget.

Why do you think you need new springs? Have you read through the suspension forum?

Depends on how much lift you want and/or how much weight you plan on having up front (aftermarket bumper, winch, skid plates, etc.) among other things.

I have the OME 881s which gave my 04 v6 xtra cab an inch of lift up front, but the 881s aren't meant to support much extra weight. I'll have to upgrade when I plan on adding a bumper and what not.

Only thing I may add is a skid plate, I'm keeping it mostly stock up front.

Then I think you'd be fine keeping it at stock weight springs (or close to it), no need to upgrade to really heavy duty ones or the ride will suffer without the extra weight there to make up for it.

But I should probably replace them with new ones right? Same size as the stock ones even though the 5100's are height adjustable?

5100s are height adjustable yes, but it's a generally better to buy the right springs for the lift you want rather than using the shocks. If you want 1 or 2 inches of lift then I'd get the right OME springs for that and leave the 5100s set to 0. Will ride better that way.

I have a pair of Stock Delco 4x4 springs that are 3 months old. Put them on to replace the progressive TRD Prerunner springs. Put it back to stock plus about an inch. Took them off because I got the bug for more lift. Were are you located in the world. They're for sale but shipping can be a killer.

Trying to decide between OME 880s and factory TRD spring coils.

Not trying to hijack the thread but I'm in the same situation only I'm planning on putting a winch on the front of mine. The winch will be hidden behind the stock bumper for now, the cool bumper will be down the road. What OME springs should I run ? I'm running stock height now and not planning on more than a couple inches of lift.
Any help is appreciated as I'm new to the Tacoma world

Depends on how much lift you want in the end

I believe you want 883s then, 2" of lift with extra weight in the front if I'm remembering right.

Yep 883s for extra weight if you want lift. 881s if you want the weight to bring the "lift" back down to a close to stock ride hight.

It will be a bit before I get the bumper built, what will my ride be like with these shocks and if I go with the 883's will I need to adjust th cv height/angle ? Sorry I'm really new to this coil over shock thing
