I love cleaning my black Tacoma every week... the truck is awesome though! I'm slowly replacing things on it.

My wife calls the quicksand color, dirt colored. I'm ok with it. Needs less cleaning, although I clean mine as much as you do.

Love it. Was everything that it expected. I wanted a Tacoma for a while but the 2nd gen needed a facelift. I waited until the second year run to get the bugs worked out and then narrowed down what I needed. Then bought it.

It's one of the first vehicles I bought that wasn't exclusively for its utility. I actually wanted it. Lol.

Well, let's see. I upgraded from a standard 1995 RWD Tacoma reg cab. That was/is a great little truck (selling it to a friend) but let's look at what I got by going 3rd gen.

    2.4L I4 > 3.5L V6
    5MT > 6MT
    RWD > 4WD
    No locker > elocker
No AC > Air fucking conditioning, finally, for the love of god
    No cruise > Cruise
    Reg cab > Double cab
    Bench seat > Bucket seats
    Crank windows > Power windows
    Manual locks > Power locks
Fixed back window > Power rear sliding window
ABS only > ABS, LSD, TRAC, VSC, ATRAC
Janky manual side mirrors > Power-adjust, foldable heated side mirrors
Flip night vision rear mirror > Auto dimming rear view mirror
No onboard nav > Onboard nav
Loudest cabin on earth > Nice quiet, comfortable cabin
    Old-ass headlights > Projector beams + fogs
Practically no cabin storage space > Lots of built in storage compartments
Basic speedometer and tach > All kinds of HID display, TPMS, compass, etc.
Plus a fucking power inverter in the back I might actually use one day.

Yeah. You could say I'm happy. :burnrubber:

Like many, I've posted my fair share of concerns - as many would if you witness issues with a new purchase from a trusted brand... but despite any issues I've had I love the truck.

Fun to drive - it loves winding mountain roads and is capable darting in and out of city traffic.
No better looking truck in this class - looks aggressive and ready to GO
Truck seems to like you to floor it, and since I've accepted this I enjoy the power higher in the RPM range.
Love all the different modes it offers - S-mode, Crawl Control (which is pretty cool the one time I used it), ECT for driving in the mountains or heavy city traffic.
Suspension (stock) is very comfy in my OR. Even my wife always compliments what a smooth ride the truck is.
    Aftermarket is ridiculous (and dangerous)
Gas mileage is just "ok" but hard to eek out 30mpg on truck - I didn't buy it for fuel economy (and no one should).
Fits me perfectly, many complain about the legs out position and driving position overall, but the driver setup was clearly built for the average sized person in mind. I'm 5.10 with a 30" inseam and the steering wheel, pedals, etc., are all in the perfect position - I never find myself having to adjust things to get comfortable.
Steering is tight, it's a truck that handles like a sedan when not loaded down.

Tranny does weird things, yes - but on the positive note, Toyota is listening and the latest TSB has done wonders. Toyota has a solid truck on their hands in this generation, a bit if quality control to work through for sure, but there's no doubt this one will continue to be the envy of the mid-sized pickup market. Plus, every time I see a Colorado it looks terrible (I know that's hardly the case, but you can't argue that the Tacoma simply LOOKS more formidable than the Colorado)

enjoy your trucks! keep an eye out on here for things to be aware of and hold your dealer accountable to resolve anything that surfaces and you'll be fine!

LOVE my 2016 limited super white. & yes I experience the hunting for gears tranny or puter or Whatever. just love drivin it. i'm always detailin it, my son (26} says i'm gonna wash the paint right off of it! I'm an "oldster" here, or like I like to say- Old School. little Trivia here; I remember my first Truck as a Teenager was a DATSUN! it was cool, orange with alum. alloy "mag" wheels. Anyways, this is light years ahead! All computerized! the limited, Not bragging, is Loaded with all the goodies. good enough for this old guy. understand it does not have the Crawl mode & other OR stuff. but enough cargo space for this ex-carpenter, & occational passengers. OK! enough of my BS, thanx for listenin, & thanx to all here on this Great Site! wealth of knowledge & comradery!chili taco.jpg

I couldn't agree more about TW. It's a great place to end a shitty day and find something to laugh about.

I love mine! Quicksand reminds me of the old FJ40s. The style is awesome. Interior is really nice, lots of convenience features. I think it drives just fine once you get used to the throttle.

i love my truck. i'm really super happy with it. there are things i'd change, but i've found workarounds and am good to see if things like ECU programming may emerge in the future. i was fortunate enough to get the first MT Pro allocation in Texas, which was my plan, and it shows. the quality control has been looking really good so far. i'm almost to 6k miles.

    yes!
    looks great
    drives tight, great steering
    6MT & 4.3 gears!
solid rear end! but no a/m parts yet..
    terrific chassis!
    Fox shocks
    ton's of fun to drive!!!
    customized seat
decent stock sound (although i'll be replacing it soon)
pretty damn tough, especially with E tires (Cooper ST Maxx 265/65-17)
    comfortable over long distances
can be fairly cheap to modify, wide availability of parts (just emerging for 3rd gen)
    i could go on...

Yeah I don't like the grill but there are options to improve that... still think the whole outline of the front end is good.

I have a 2016 White DCSB Limited, went limited because I had acuras and BMW before, I needed a truck but didn't want a full size. I wanted to fit the truck in my garage and I needed a crew cab because I have 3 kids. I love it.

There is a lot of complaining on this forum, but I have owned approx 25 cars and this is my favorite. I have had 2016 Acura RDX, 2006 BMW 325i, VW Passatt TDI, Acura TSX, Acura TL, BMW Z4, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, Nissan Frontier, Nissan Rogue, All in the last 10 years and I might actually keep this one for awhile. Some of them have worse Transmissions, worse engines and way more problems than a Tacoma ever thought of having.

My 2015 VW Passat TDI blew a turbo at 8000 miles, it is a normal failure for that model, it would have been a 6500 dollar job out of warranty.
