    Need some advice.

I am currently running 265 75 16 on stock off road rims (-25 offset). My 2011 has approximately 2.5 inches of lift from OME struts and 885 coils. My mudflaps are on with no rubbing.

I would like to run 275 70 17 on 2016 4runner sport rims (-15 offset). This adds approximately 1" in diameter (.5 inches around) and pushes, the rim out about .5 inches.

Anyone running something similar with your mudflaps on? I appreciate any feedback.

I don't want to take the flaps off. I see three possible outcomes:

    1. They fit, don't rub and I'm happy.
    2. They will rub and I decide to just buy 265 70 17.
    3. I put on the 275s anyway an put a 1" body lift on to help clear.

I know Oz and others run 275s, but I believe with stock offset or after removing their flaps.

Thanks for any help. I have done a lot of reading/research and haven't found definitive answers. May end up depending on what caster numbers I can get.

I think you might rub a little.

I'm running 255 75 17 on my trd sport wheels now. I have 265 70 17 on American racing Fuel wheels with 5" bs and they are close to UCA. I'm getting 275 70 17 and new wheels with 4.5" bs and I'm running a 3/2" lift. lots of room with both other sets of tires. Just a heads up to watch BS.20160509_170603_resized.jpg 20161106_122635.jpg

Run it. all you have to do is remove the front mudflaps. I've been running this setup for years with no issues.

I just installed a set of these on stock TRD sport wheels. Running 5100s on stock TRD sport coils set at 1.75. All I had to do was remove these little flappers at the front.

Just a curious question. I plan on running this size when I need new tires. Do you still have the spare factory size? Or did you replace that.

I have not done anything with the spare yet. Curious if the 275/70 will fit but haven't tried yet. Maybe I'll pull a wheel off this weekend and try.

Thanks all for the input. I think I will get the 275s and deal making them work. As this point I would regret getting 265s again.

Dwayne, did you raise the back at all? I like the look. I'm thinking of a 1 1/2 or 2 inch spacer and leave the back stock for now.

I run 275s on Ray10s and had to take my front flaps off and trim just a little off the flare. My rear are still there. Hell, I had to do a CMC because I was rubbing at full turn.

I run the Goodyear MTR's in a 275/70R17 on the same lift as you. I was able to keep the mud flaps by having the caster set to 3 degrees. Still using the TRD Sport 17" rims.

Sport rims are still -25 offset correct?

4 runner rims are -15 offset....

Always wondered about the 4runner rims that look like the 2nd gen TRD sport tacoma rims....are the offsets the same or different?

I also meant to ask how is the power pulling out. Do you feel much of a difference due to the tire size?

275/70/17 17x8.5 0 offset, 3 inch lift. Had to remove front wind deflectors. No issues otherwise. Had no other issues with 17x9 -5 offset eiher.
