For you guys with a prinsu rack, how do you guys mount a big item like an rtt either on the roof or shell when there is that side rail to block you from reaching under and bolting down the mounts? Trying to see how people squeeze in to do that?

They easiest way I have found is to remove the first and last cross bar. My rack sits super low on my canopy and there is almost no room to get a wrench in from the side. Taking the first and last off gives plenty of room to tighten the nuts then just reinstall the bars.

I just jammed my arm in there with a ratcheting wrench. It sucked balls. Took like 2 hours to get the 8 nuts tightened down. My arms hurt awful afterwards. I do as mentioned above now and simply remove the two Prinsu rails the tent is mounted to in order to take the tent off.

So the rtt I got or am getting is the ikamper skycamp that went up last week. Should be here by June so I'm looking and researching what kind of rack Setup to get. Either mount on roof or bed with kbvoodoo or mobtown with my retrax cover.

I worry because the skycamp is huge. It's 86 inches long and 54 inches wide. It's def going to hang over on all sides of the prinsu. If it's too difficult I'll end up with a bed rack I guess compatible with my retrax.

Here's my Tepui Autana, mounted to a custom bed rack (Craigslist find). Yes I can still get my spare tire out with the RTT on lol. If you have any questions, let me know! I used McMaster Carr security nuts to give me a little more peace of mind. I do now have an awning as well!

Someone asked about getting the tent on and off:

Easy one person job with an engine hoist.

genius! I've seen people use cranes and I'm thinking "why the f*** do you have a crane" lol. Engine hoist makes more sense!

    Not enough...

It only works if your truck is not lifted and the tent is not mounted on the roof... I can't even get my truck into the garage with the RTT on

You'd want to order a mounting rail and a mounting bracket set. The bracket set will have the sliding piece and hardware.

I was in Santa Cruz on Friday at the Tepui HQ and met with the team for a while. Some exciting stuff coming. If you haven't seen it yet, check out the new Luxury Mattress. Got to check it out first hand and it's awesome. Definite upgrade from the standard mattress. Got myself one that should be delivered in a couple days. The innovation that continues to come from Tepui is awesome.

Used my RTT for the first time Saturday night out near Gorman, CA. Had a great day riding dirt bikes after the rain.
    Some initial thoughts and observations.

---Slept well but will be adding another 2" mattress in there so i don't toss and turn so much
---On the side of the rtt that faces the back of the cab, one of the window prop rods hits the top of the cab next to the 3rd brake light. It is because my all pro bed rack is not that high. The pre drilled hole for the prop rod in the rtt base has an angle that is not steep enough. maybe i will re drill a new hole. even with bending the prop rod it still didn't hold the window open tight.(you can tell from the first photo)
---I bought some a-frame clamps and those helped keep the rain fly from flapping so much. It was really windy out there.
--I will be buying a 6'x6' piece of fake grass from HD, so i can change socks, put on moto boots near the ladder
--I now know the importance of leveling and i was not prepared, so rolled to 1 side during the night. What are people using for leveling? I think i might just nail some 2x6's together
