You are also right that it is cost effective. ECGS will be doing my install. They quoted me $879 for the locker with no additional labor. Just lines that need to be plumbed and the wiring harness put in. I have a dual compressor already.

ECGS is the way to go no doubt about it.

I think my front locker saved me from being swamped this day. Just saying... You've probably already seen this, but here it is again. I was totally stopped JUST before the girl started filming. Threw both lockers on and got moving again.

I know that it can be added later. Tomorrow I will call to find out the labor cost. Then hopefully wont have to change alot on my compressor setup..

Is there a writeup on re-booting the front axles? I just got new ones and have the originals as spares. One has a torn boot and the other I'm sure isn't far behind so I'm wanting to re-boot them and keep them as spares.

Adding later is expensive. ECGS doesn't charge any labor to add the locker to the diffs. They didn't mine anyway.

There must be one somewhere. It's pretty easy though. Just messy...

I think its as easy as, cut the old boot off, scoop out the old grease, attach new boot, fill new boot with new grease, and seal to axle

They are charging me 650 for the rear diff and 600 for the front diff in labor.

I havent set a date yet, so that part is still open. Just need to make up my mind about the front locker

Don't need to cut the boot. Undo clamps. Remove boot, regrease, install new boot, clamp, done.

Oh, I swapped them myself. Forgot you live down there. See how much extra it is to have them actually install the locker into the clamshell. I bet it's only the cost of the locker.

I'd say do it now or don't do it at all. It's going to be a LOT more to open it up again and do it later. Sorry, but that's just the way it is.

@HolyHandGrenade I just called Chase at ECGS. He told me if I do the front locker later, for them to put the locker into the front diff (when the diff is out of the truck) it would be $100 (plus cost of locker)

If I drive down and they pull the front diff, it would be $375 plus the cost of the locker.

Wow... that's much less than I thought. ECGS rocks. You wouldn't get that price anywhere else. It's still cheaper to do it now obviously. But, who knows? You may decide that you don't even need a front locker.
