Is the sunroof option like a unicorn?

I'm sure someone had to have bought a Limited with a sunroof.

 

My 02 limited ext cab has a sunroof.

 

my 2k TRD 4x4 SR5 has one. i think it is.

 

The original owner of my '98 Extended Cab PreRunner said he had the option for a sunroof. Didn't get it though. If I'm not wrong it was an option when ordering the truck to be built.

 

Got pics of your limited ext cab? Just curious if the package is the same as my previous double cab limited (that one didn't have a sunroof though).

My 02 TRD 4x4 SR5 extra cab has one and now it has the limited seats from my previous truck as well. I too think this option is rare. Would you happen to have the sunroof cover? I found one on CL after buying the truck. Those things are expensive from the factory.

 

What's even more rare are the double cabs with the sunroof

 

I've only seen a few and they were both silver limited dc's.

Damn well nice buy. If you ever get the chance you can post a pic straight from your phone. Would like to see the headliner and all that...I've only seen maybe 2 or 3 DCs with a sunroof.

 

I'll get a pic tomorrow I need help figuring out what one of the buttons for the sunroof do anyways. It says as/c and has a picture of a moon on it. I push it and it lights up red but doesn't do any thing.

Had an 02 double cab TRD same color in high school back in '08. Almost the same truck but without the sunroof.

 

Yeah I'd need to see a pic, from the sounds of it it seems like it was installed either by a dealer or later down the road. Perhaps a webasto hollandia...

 

We see lots of limiteds up here with sunroofs.

My unicorn that I've driven is a 22RTE 4 speed auto truck with power windows.

 

Not a Tacoma but still cool nonetheless.

??? No way that's OEM.

I was reading into the factory service manual and the Tacoma factory moon roofs are all manual, as far as I know. It has the same latch mechanism as the extended cab vent windows (imagine a giant xtracab vent window, but on your ceiling). I don't think any that came from the factory are motorized.
