I think it may be time for a new battery. I have a 2012 with 107,000 miles on it. How many years did you guys get out of your factory battery?

You're at 5 years on the original battery? Well done, you're ready for a new one. I would do it asap before you end up stranded...

Out in Arizona you're lucky to get 2 years...

I just got a battery in November. Paid extra from wallyworld for the 5 year battery. Worth the investment.

/not planning on dual batteries any time soon

Mine is 4 years old with 140,000km, & with stock brakes. My Betty is a good girl, I am also easy on her :p I did notice some corrosion on the negative post, and rougher starts lately; I might get a new battery myself.
I highly recommend Costco's Kirkland batteries. Everything they make is high quality, the batteries are no exception. High CCA's, great warranty, fair price.

Just some cheap option from Napa. I run two dash cams set to cut off when the battery drains to a certain voltage. With a good battery, I get about 4 days of recording when parked. This is why mine didn't last very long. It's worth it to me

Kirkland doesn't make anything. It's just a Costco label on someone's product.

Except they don't carry Kirkland batteries anymore, they carry Interstate.

And multiple brands of batteries are made by Johnson Controls.

So once you find the correct size for your vehicle, the key to value is price and warranty. 'Cause most likely if it's an OTS wet cell, it's gonna be a Johnson Control unit.

Agreed. When Panasonic quit making the AGM batteries that went into early Miatas (they usually lasted around 10 years) there was a bit of thrashing in the marketplace with folks looking for a suitable replacement.

Last I looked, East Penn was the go to product in that line. There were some Optima choices, but there were oddities to overcome, like reversed polarity locations and size. Not to mention their price.

I got nearly 7 years and 100,000 miles out of mine. That was really pushing it... it cranked slowly the last couple times then it outright died, so I needed a jump start from a good Samaritan to get to the parts store.

I've only gotten 2 years from the oem as well as replacement battery. Seems like daily and frequent 3 mile trips and hot Texas weather does them in quick.

Took delivery of my 2014 end of July '14. Most of three Colorado mountain winters. Last time I drove it, the start was a little weak. This morning (late morning) I jumped in and it barely started. Took it to Autozone for a battery check. Fail. Had to get a jump from them just to go home (where I have one of those slick compact car starters. At home. Dumbass).

Reading this brand new today thread, looks like there are people who get 2 years from the OE battery and there are people who get 5+. I'm guessing that my use patterns are hard on batteries. My truck typically sits for a week or more. I don't drive it to work. I can get groceries on my bike too, so the truck isn't for work and errands and everything else, it's just for everything else.

On the one hand, I should look for a super battery that will hold up for more than 2.5 years of this. On the other hand, perhaps I should go quick and dirty. Buy cheap, don't expect to get half a decade out of it. Time to find some reviews. I've always chosen Interstate in the past. Throw your opinions at me! I live in a town with a Walmart, a NAPA, Autozone, O'Reilly, and Carquest. I have a Taco 4.0 with tow package, I believe the battery is 710 CCA. I want at least equivalent. Suggest!

AGM battery made by East Penn with 775 CCA and a 3yr warranty. It only costs $50 more than the acid battery, which has above OE specs if you choose to go that route.
